Welcome to the Guzzi club. It is stunning. I own a California custom in blue and it's a dream. All the Italian tropes and cliches are true (both good & bad), but they are phenomenal to ride. Enjoy it, though that will be no hardship.

I also find it astounding how reasonable the pricing is for Moto Guzzi's in the US. Lucky us!

Super jelly. I was between this or a Slim back in 2020 when I ultimately chose the Slim. I really wish I went with the Guzzi. Such a unique motorcycle

I do love the Slim, and have considered it a few times, but I am extremely happy with my Eldorado!

Plus side: V-Engine 1200 + cc Shaft drive Big torque Simple looking isingle nstrument Only Italian Brand that is cool Looks cool Negative: Not V4 (but well, it's a Guzzi) Wrong orientation of the V engine (but well, it's a Guzzi) It has drive modes The instrument is digital not analog Nice bike though. Me riding the 1700 VMax probably the same way like it was an Eldorado or a California, not as a streetfighter or muscle bike nor dragster. I love the endless torque at relaxed riding but occasionally I pull the throttle hard.

Appreciate your take! It really comes down to preference. I actually love the inverted v-twin engine and the combo analog/digital guage. I don't use the drive modes a whole lot, but Pioggia will come in handy if I'm every riding in inclement conditions.

Just days ago I was riding on wet and pretty cold streets. The tires felt like being made from wood. Definitely needed to ride with extra care. Still, in my old fashioned mind, drive modes and electronic riding aids on a bike are dangerous. It gives people the illusion that they are capable of handling a bike which in reality they can't. Anyway, this bike is a wonderful bike and if I would have to choose from nowadays bikes, the Eldorado would be one of my favorites.

Which Triumph do you think this looks like? The Speedmaster, maybe?

If you google 1964 moto guzzi V7 - you will find 70-80% accurate version of this 1400 Guzzi in this video. You don't really see a similar Triumph Bonneville until 2000 (40 years later). Before 2000 the Bonneville has a few mice on a treadmill where the engine is suppose to be. It's hard to recognize these same lines because it looks more like a 20lb dirt bike with street tires on it.
