Having a V100 for a year now, that engine is FANTASTIC! These current Moto Guzzi’s are underrated and overshadowed by the P.R. the other brands put out……but they are excellent motorbikes! I love mine!👍

A comfy touring bike in a bit of adventure styling. There are not many shafties around except BMW ;-) A friend rides a Mandello V100, lots of miles, fast, a very satisfied Guzzi rider. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg

Two great videos on the Stelvio Jaimie. I tried the Stelvio back to back with the Mandello in August. I'd ridden the Mandello before and loved it. I found I preferred the Stelvio on the day, perhaps because I usually ride adventure bikes and not sports tourers. Comfortable, plenty of power and still unmistakably a Moto Guzzi. I'd love one. TV

I picked up the road-only V100S Mandello in the spring and love it. Great engine, good handling and a little lower than the Stelvio (I'm a short-@rse). While the list price is high there are often good deals to be had on Guzzis and Aprilias here in the UK, I got £2.5k off my Mandello.

Modern a good looking bike, I also know that it's a very strong and confortable motirbike! Great review as always! Congratulations!

Talking about the jolt from neutral to first gear: the clutch is mounted on the primary shaft which revs higher than traditional clutches. If you notice when you are in neutral the revs are higher than a normal twin engine. Therefore starting in first gear must take place at a higher rpm than a traditional engine otherwise it would shut down when you release the clutch and that causes that jolt. It’s just the way the system was designed/engineered.

Its been like that for decades... I wouldve like them to modernize it..

Thanks for a good review of the Stelvio. It certainly looks like an adventure bike that does what it says on the tin, and with comfort thrown in, it's got to be a winner. More importantly though Jamie, is seeing you back on the bikes. Welcome 'home'.

Great review as allways 👏👍 it looks good, I like it 😉 I sat on it, it seemed heavy to me. I will have to drive it. It has a cardan, I like that. Big greetings Master 😜👍

It's an awesome middle weight, I've loved mine. I think the benefits would only be if you really wanted to be on longer road hauls more often. 🤷♂

Great review. Perhaps it would be good to give some info how it compares to its competitors, of which here are MANY... In fact, despite its obvious pros, I am a bit pessimistic regarding its sales: the Guzzi dealers are few and far between and this Stelvio does not come cheap (MSRP in the USA: $16,390)...

Riding off road on a gravel road isn't off road. Every reviewer - bike is heavy, but you don't feel it. Once I got stuck on really nasty clay with Beta 125 which is 96 kg and BELIEVE me I felt how heavy it is! 😜

Can anyone explain the jolt from neutral to first gear ?
@kevinlunney5608Ай бұрын
I have a v100 amd that jolt is insane - very uncomfortable in traffic. On the open road its a beast. Evidently they have an update for the clunk in next years transmission- so sucks for 1st year owners.
@rosstinelliАй бұрын
@kevinlunney5608 Thanks! You think i should wait for the next iteration?
@kevinlunney5608Ай бұрын
@rosstinelli honestly - i think you should. I have a first year v85tt that I love with no issues ( and a butter smooth transmission)! But this new engine and transmission will probably need a few years to work out. Also anyone who claims it is down on power is out of their minds - the v100 pulls like a freightrain.
@rosstinelliАй бұрын
@kevinlunney5608 cheers ! I tested it this year and loved it. I didn't really notice the chunky first gear but from all the reviews I've seen, a lot of people seem to be bothered by the transmission. I think the bike needs to be broken in thoroughly. Ill wait and see next year

Since the v100 was released, and now this stelivo... I've been really loving the look and features of moto guzzi...but currently riding a multistrada 1200s....and only thing I'm concerned about is the power compared to the ducatis power....The multistrada is a great bike but is the moto guzzi better?
@alm4132Ай бұрын
A lot less power but a better all around motorcycle.
@frankiepavinatoАй бұрын
I’m switching from a 2011 Multistrada 1200S Sport to this Stelvio. I tried the demo bike twice. I was literally stunned with the engine,it’s so progressive and has a lot of torque. You can stay in 5th gear below 3000rpm and when you accelerate it doesn’t shake and you don’t need to change gear like on the MTS. It’s not as fast on the acceleration like the Ducati but it feels kinda like you almost have more power than 115hp. In my opinion it’s a really great engine,sure you’ll miss 35 hp circa and it’s never going to be as sporty as the MTS because of the 19” rim on the front but it’s a very nice compromise if you do a bit of gravel roads. The only thing probably you’re going to miss are the electronic suspensions but these are nice mechanical ones and they are pretty good for the road. In conclusion..if you are worried about the engine go out to a Moto Guzzi dealer and try for yourself. I know I’m going to miss a little bit of power but the torque of this engine and the way it delivers smoothly its power has really conquered my heart. It’s true when they say power isn’t always everything in an engine. I cannot wait to bring her home!
