Sublime. The fact that Robert Fripp reposted this on Facebook says more than anything I can think of writing here and now. Kudos: it's wonderful!
@paulauksztulewicz48034 жыл бұрын
The fact that you pulled this off with such grace and fluidity, originality in the sense of slowing tempo in places where accentuation is needed makes your classical version of this difficult song perfect as its’ own entity and not just another attempt at performing the original. Bravo!

Incredible! My first thought is how much this sounds like it could have been written for Classical guitar. And then imagine some crazy guy trying to play it on electric guitar with a pick... Oh, that crazy guy wrote it on electric guitar with a pick!!! This really highlights how amazing Robert's composition and playing are!
@JayHarrisGuitarLessons3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never heard of it. I came across it by accident and then I was looking for that three minute part they were talking about and found this guy. I believe the guy with the pick that wrote it had to include some finger involvement even if he used a pick? It’s still amazing to do all that and hold a pick while doing it. I’ve been playing for 40 years and I can finger pick but I usually don’t combine them with the pic. That’s sort of what those chicken Pickin guys do, LOL for the longest time when I was trying to hit those licks I didn’t realize they were sneaking the fingers in there, LOL!

Actually I much prefer your interpretation. The classical guitar, nylon strings and your touch bring out lots of tones and dynamics that I don't really hear when this piece is played on an electric instrument. brilliant version. 10/10 Stay well.
@ganazby4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree.
@jmtschanz3 жыл бұрын
@@ganazby It is a mistake to compare, because the guy slows down at critical hand moves, whereas Fripp would keep the pace all throughout, hence a great sense of increasing *tension* and also, an ingredient that makes Fracture powerful : *groove* (cf the two lined pattern between dreamesque arpeggios) but the three other guys must be there for that great feeling.
@EdwardBast Жыл бұрын
Actually, there is considerably more dynamic contrast in Fripp's performance. I wouldn't fault this player for slower shifts given the problems of playing above the twelfth fret on an instrument without cutaway.

Yes, excellent rendition. It seems that using all fingers is the most logical and satisfying approach to this song as attempting to play it with a pick like Fripp does is nearly impossible and it drains out all your stamina, endurance and ultimately your patience.

Dear Alberto, i just found your very unique sounding interpretation of this king crimson classic. I'm surprised to see you playing this! Maybe you remember my name, i was a student in the composition class of Diego Feinstein and guitar class of Wolfgang Lendle. We talked sometimes about new compositions for classical guitar, must be nearly 16 years ago. Once again: great playing like in your "younger days" (i remember some great Rodrigo interpretation). All the best for you, Alberto! Oliver from Germany

@@blukimbo3450 The theme is a note to note transcription, but Alberto plays an accompaning bass line and chord notes I don't hear on the "Starless and bible black" recording. Don't misunderstand me. @@misterleary I understood what you meant, I am 99% sure you are wrong.
