I have to thank you Seppo for lighting up my day. This video makes me happy, on a sad day. My country was able to make great stuff like this funky moped. France moved a long way away from since, and not in the good direction. Warm regards, dear Seppo

Man, being able to hop out on a moped, and experience countryside like that!!! That's what's going to become impossible to find...

Love it, I have a Raleigh Runabout from 1968 which uses the same Motobecane engine and transmission. On a good day it will do 30MPH /48KPH on the flat!

I had a 1968 Raleigh Runabout as my first moped! Yes, 30mph/48kmh is about as much as it would give. Mine was always blowing light bulbs due to bad earths. I used to ride it from my house to Nottingham every weekend during my pilot training (80 miles round trip), but better than walking (mostly). Enjoy your classic ped.

I was watching an old episode of one of Rick Stein's cooking shows where he's travelling through France on their canals, and at one point he hopped on a Velo Solex extolling the virtues of having such a bike while boating along, being useful for getting to the town markets when moored up... :D

Understeer at 25km/hr! Mopedtastic 😀 It brings back memories of a tiny Honda Moped, which for 1 year back in the 1970’s was my entire transport! Thank you 😀

Always loved these. I’m interested in all folding mopeds. Centaur, valmobile being on my bucket list to buy 😊
@@zane1os I have other villiers powered stuff, so not that bothered. In fact, my 39 Norman was robbed of parts before I bought it for a Wells bike project, paratrooping folding bike, daddy of the Brockhouse Corgi.

Looks strikingly like the Honda Motocompacto trunk moped for their subcompact cars. By the way, they just re-released to motocompacto as an electric scooter. Doesn't quite have the same soul as a 2 cycle but I bet it's just as fun

im sure some one else has said it, but id expect atleast 40kmh out of that particular motor, it sounded like it never really got on song. have you de-coked the exhaust? (sorry im not trying to teach your gran how to suck eggs) you clearly have a clue. keep up the cool videos

A rather over optimistic speedo and in Australia we don't have mopeds but motor asissted pudh bikes which have to actually look like a push bike but they need to electric they banned the ones with petrol motors no because environmental laws because people modified to were they achieving quite high speeds much faster than an unassisted push bike extremely dangerous and in some states they had to be registered and the rider had to have a motorcycle licence
