More tech at the same price makes me think that Triumph knows that the Chinese are coming.
@douglasalexander43483 ай бұрын
@@simonbowen6653 Electric tech is cheap and trickles down from bikes made a few years ago. The Chinese are not ‘coming’ , they’re here and have been for years. You don’t see them much because after two years they’re junk. Triumph have to price and compete with the the Yamaha mt07 and the Honda hornet which are both excellent bikes. The Street triple has had similar minimal cost increases over the years which makes them remarkably good value.

Not at all the Chinese plays in a completely different price bracket. The Speed 400 eats the GB350 for breakfast etc. What's are the offerings sports nakid from the Japanese big 4 in the middle class engine range? Hey @ApexRadius, thanks for the input! I totally get what you're saying about the Daytona 660-it’s really carving its own path in the sportbike world, distinct from the 675. It was Yammie Noob that was negative to the new Daytona, but I ask around these days to get to know and understand many people's perspectives. I've actually been curious about what other bikes out there give off that retro-classic racing vibe, especially for a first bike. I’m thinking something that channels the essence of classic racers without looking too futuristic or "transformer-esque." I’m really drawn to bikes that carry a classic racing feel, something reminiscent of the original Daytona but also like the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 or even the Triumph Thruxton RS. I’d love your take on other cool bikes in this vein, especially ones that blend classic style with solid performance. What’s your recommendation for a bike that has that old-school racer soul but can still keep up today? Fair play to Triumph for adding all those updates and taking the inflation costs on the chin. That is an impressive update. The folks on here moaning that it doesn't get a Daytona tune seem to be forgetting that the Daytona engine is significantly different to the Trident. Bigger air box, extra throtle bodies, bigger cylinder head, pistons, valves, I could go on.
@ApexRadius3 ай бұрын
Yes, and the triple throttle bodies of the Daytona make it a no go on this bike. I believe Triumph had to alter the Trident frame to make that work (aside from some other chassis tweaking they did for the Daytona). But I think another issue is that using that engine would be pushing it a little too close to Street Triple territory. It might have been nice to give it a few hundred more revs and a small power bump at the top end, though, if that's possible with the current Trident engine.

I don't get all the fuss over cruise control. How many people ride at a constant speed on motorways long enough to need it? I get it on cars where you sit in the pack and just able along, but that isn't what motorcycling is about is it, unless you like to cruise like the good ole boys on their Harleys. Or has everyone's wrists got so weak they can't hold their throttles open for long any more? It may seem I'm being flippant, but I genuinely don't get all the fuss made about it in KZbin bike reviews, even on bikes that aren't meant to be mile munchers. Is it maybe just spec sheet box ticking...does anybody regularly use it?

I had CC on a (used) car I purchased. It's almost useless on British motorways. Only thing it's good for is if there's a 50 mph (or similar) speed limit with average speed cameras. You can then set it to the figure, and not get 'towed' or 'pushed' over the limit by other vehicles. Also I used to entertain my step-son by letting him regulate the car's speed by adjusting the setting.

@@user-mk3gc1vu9d it's another component altogether, so getting it and calibrating it won't be possible by the dealers. I would settle for sports mode and cruise control if they can 😭 I rarely touch the 'm' button since it's always on road lol, having a sports mode with quick throttle map would be amazing

@@user-mk3gc1vu9dAn IMU is nice to have but you really don't need traction control, much less a six-axis IMU, on a 80-hp bike. Lean-sensitive ABS is nice but, again, not a must-have for street riding. I wouldn't sweat it. Ride and enjoy.

When is that ENDURO VELOCE review coming out?? I’ve already spotted in two videos and I’m craving to hear more about it! 😮

Unfortunately the upgrades are not going to get me to trade my March 21. I put a lot of extras on at the time. Sport mode and cruise control, are not a deal breaker.

Does it have auto blinker off? That’s become my favorite feature.

That is a very impressive package for the price

had a feeling the quick shifter would become standard after it was included on the tribute edition.

I threw a leg over it and at my 1.87 height, it felt small. Therefore I bought a Z650RS for my first bike. Safe roads to everyone !!

Do you think we might get a Trident RS? Daytona engine cool suspension would be rather nice I think 😎

Enjoyed the review, as per other comments do you think this will all follow through to the Tiger 660

I really wish theyd get rid of the tire hugger splash shield and go with a normal fender like on the daytona it really helps with how short and stubby this bike looks

3 modes are better that 2 ONLY if they actually cover more range. If the add 1 between road and rain, that is still 3 but no better.

How was the wind noise any wind buffeting…? my last tiger the buffeting was so bad. I had to take the heat gun to my windshield to fix it.

Great video like always. You are the best. I quite like the bike, lots of +++ for the price.
