I think the big thing to think about the Enfield big twin cafe racer is that all those other bikes mentioned were targetted at the much more premium end of the market (i.e. the older riders with cash to burn). I think Enfield might be onto something targeting the more affordable end of the market where you're more likely to find younger riders who can handle cafe racer ergos.

Trident 800 would sell like the proverbial hotcakes. 90% of the Street triple performance and handling, without the wrist pressure, and more comfort biased setup, would suit a huge number of riders. Triumph makes some really nice bikes. I really don't understand their recent model strategy though! They have so many models overlapping now, with the 660's the 765's and now the 800s. How many different flavours of middleweight 3-cylinder sporty bike can they sell? Why not make something that branches into new markets? There are some obvious low hanging fruits like a "tiny tiger" with the 400 or a middleweight tiger with the 660. With small and medium ADVs still selling well, it's a mystery to me why they haven't yet 😅

I'm sure today's young generation will say exactly the same thing in 20-30 years from now :-) Technology saves lives and makes riding more fun. Can U image what would happen if more newbies got 150 hp or more bikes without all the electronics? Secondly, the price is subjective. I never say that the bike is too expensive, I prefer to think I earn too little to afford it. It's obvious that when you buy a BMW or Ducati you don't pay for the bike itself i.e. the price of parts + taxes, but you pay for entering another level of riding experience or different community or you name it. But there's always something extra that goes with the price. The same is with cars, watches etc. When you buy Rolex you actually pay for status not the watch itself.

Trident, Daytona, 660, 800. Might be time to bump the 765 up a bit. It's already competing with a bunch of 900s. How about a Street Triple 875 and maybe 140-150 HP? I guess you could have a Daytona 800 if it was a bit more feisty than than the 660. Will Triumph do another Moto2 (I'd buy another if it had a bit more power) or will the Daytona 800 be the new proper Daytona and not just a soft version like the 660? In any case where does all that leave the Streetie? So many bikes in this range now.

I loved the old Gixers. I'm too old now, but sure a lot would still buy them. Having owned Suzuki, Kawasaki and Triumph sports bikes. Suzuki are by far the most comfortable and easy to ride. Kawasaki and Triumph you sit on top of, making them feel top heavy and more cumbersome. But then I am only 5ft 8. Smaller adventure bikes make a bit more sense than a barge with two wheels. But have never interested me. And never will now. I have now gone full old man cruiser mode. This way I can sit on the bike longer. And am able to walk when I get off. That will see me out.

The seat hight is the same as the 660…. And only about 18lbs heavier…. Or so I’m told

I haven't owned a Honda since my teens many decades ago. Just out of principle, I want to support Honda for making motorcycling more affordable.

Tuareg 457 oh yes! And Trident 800, I think I'll have 2 of each until KTM brings a 490, still waiting for that...

2 of each sounds like the perfect garage 👍

Very interesting vid. Everyone needs a GSXR750 & I will 100% buy (another) one if they update it & bring it back to Europe.

Wait. That old video at 3:18 of the C1… it looked like the rider in the middle was actually a crash test dummy?!!

Triumph Tiger Sport 1200 or a Yamaha Tracer 10... I've been saying it for years and I'll keep saying it... whoever makes it first, I give you my absolute word, I will sign on the dotted line.
