Congratulations on getting one of these lovely things, and on what you've accomplished so far! I am looking into doing something like this, albeit in a pretty different direction - and all I can say is that if you're going to alter that rear light panel, be sure of what you're doing, because those are bloody impossible to obtain - and damn expensive when you do. I'll fab up something custom just to avoid buying one. (but of course, if you want to get rid of it, I'm here XD)

Don't you think adding an angular steel tube and panel framework supporting a large, heavy-duty front rack or basket would help with the lifting front wheel issue?
