This is a video where I recorded my quick 10-minute moto-workout. It's a good example of what you can do to quickly improve your riding skills on a simple parking lot, without using traffic cones, without drawing on pavement, etc. Just quick workout with some slow motorcycle riding techniques!
Slalom - • SLOW CONE WEAVE slalom...
Figure 8 - • Motorcycle Practice - ...
U-Turn - • U-Turn on a Motorcycle...
Slow Race - • How to Win a SLOW RACE...

On Moto Control channel you will find videos about motorcycles, motorcycle riding techniques, tips & tricks and online motorcycle training for beginner and advanced riders!
A little info about me. My name is Andrei Bodrov, originally I'm from Moscow, Russia, and now I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back in Moscow I was a motorcycle instructor and creator of Moto Control Beginner & Advanced motorcycle rider courses, which quickly became the most popular courses in Moscow (well, at least the advanced one😁). My advanced training course makes emphasis on slow speed riding techniques at first (such as good clutch and throttle control, proper riding posture, proper use of vision, etc.), then proceeds to more advanced techniques (such as aggressive braking, trail braking, maximal lean angle). The course incorporates a lot of exercises from DOSAF slow speed riding (similar to police rodeo like motorcycle training in USA), braking and cornering exercises and motogymkhana style riding. And now, since I actively learn English - I decided to post some useful videos for both your and mine practice!😉
🏍️🏍️🏍️
Since everyone writes this, it's necessary, I suppose 🤷, so here we go. Disclaimer: Ride at your own risk, you are responsible for your own safety. Me, Andrey Bodrov and my channel, Moto Control disclaim any liability incurred in connection with the use of riding techniques from this channel. Use common sense, wear full protective gear and ride in a safe and predictable manner!

What I get from your video is ride your bike instead of being driven by your bike, and learn this by doing really slow exercises. Great advice, thx for your helpful advice 👍

Thanks. I like this a lot. Realistically I am probably never going to put cones down because I don't really have anywhere I can do that. People would tell me to leave. Normally I just do figure-8's and circles, but this video gives me some new ideas.

Say MC, That all sounds good but in my neck of the woods, Coarsegold, Calif. a rural foothill community, there are no large empty parking lots available close at hand. Fortunately I rode many years ago as did a neighbor so we are fairly familiar with the basics but having a decent size empty parking lot handy to practice would be great but none are available !

Why should you shift your weight forward when accelerating and back when stopping vs remaining 'neutral'?
@MotoControlEn
@MotoControlEn 2 жыл бұрын
It's done to counter acceleration forces, and to help distribute weight between front and rear wheel more equally.

Thanks for the great videos. As a newer rider I had a question regarding looking as far ahead as possible when cornering: doesn't this prevent you from noticing any sand/gravel/oil that could be much closer?
@MotoControlEn
@MotoControlEn 2 жыл бұрын
I will make a video specifically about vision soon, there will be an answer to this question! But the short answer is that you don't just snap your vision to the horizon, you have to scan the whole area ahead of you. There is a lot of going on with your main and peripheral vision, it's a bit too long to write, so I'll explain it in a video soon!
@TravisTerrell
@TravisTerrell 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not the teacher, so take it for what it is, but my understanding is it's basically all about scanning. One should look as far ahead as possible, and that should be your main input for spotting upcoming obstacles, but one should also be scanning forward and back as needed to maintain your lane position and track the obstacles as they become closer (as well as spotting those you've missed.) It gets way easier with practice, and over time you'll get WAY better at spotting gravel and such before you are right up on it.

A. question occurs to me whenever I see a rider such as yourself with obvious riding skill is how often [if ever] have you dropped your bike when originally practicing these skills? I have had several years out of riding and recently got back into motorcycling and bought a new bike. I am really rusty and am in desperate need of practice, however I am conscious that I'm concerned about dropping my bike while practicing tight circles etc.
