There was mention of visiting a ghost town earlier in this video, but nothing was shown of Goldfield. Still, seeing that name and knowing it's proximity to the Superstition Mountains was enough to jog my memory of meeting the owners of that place 17-18 years ago when I was vacationing one summer either before or after my junion year in high school in Ouray, CO with my parents. They had a cute daughter about my age, so I very much enjoyed my time hanging out with her when I wasn't out riding the trails on my Kawasaki KLR250. Some of my best motorcycling memories combined with memories of teenage desire...thanks for that!

Did this day-trip first of this month from Apache Junction, round up to Roosevelt Lake, past Jake's Corner, then round down toward Fountain Hills. Reverse of your journey, Jamie. Wonderful 7-hr ride through some awesome scenery. The Tenere was superb on those steep twisties up to the lake. Had a blast, alone on the dirt all of the time (odd for a Friday). Wonderful adventure. Thanks for recommending it! Cheers, TH

The video is awesome. Thnx Jamie. May I ask you how tall you are? Coming from a bigger bike I am interested in a midrange adventure bike. I am about 6.2 wich is a average height in our country and I am comfortable with my r1200gs but for these kinds of rides a bit heavy.
