I have a Scrambler 1200 XE and am loving it! But the frustrating part of ownership has been the lack of aftermarket accessories like a full exhaust (which will reduce the heat issue a bunch) and hard cases. But still; no buyer’s remorse. This thing’s a blast to ride!
@soze875 жыл бұрын
Try the zard exhaust system w the de-cat kit - supposedly cuts the heat by nearly 50%. Also, there are aluminium panniers available for the 1200 scrambler, can't just remember who makes them - I'm sure a bit of google-magic will help you find out. Hope it helps.
@toltod5 жыл бұрын
@@soze87 Plus Zard has a kit which relocates the side pipes all together. Takes away from the 'scrambler' look, but no hot leg and more usable for a side pannier.
@Tocino_Wheels3 жыл бұрын
There are various Low Exhaust options out there. The Zard by far is the best option, although it's hard on the wallet.

A KTM 790 is only 20lbs lighter. If you like the Optimus Prime look, go for any of the other offers from all other makers but I like the traditional look instead of the plasticfantactic one.. 5000 miles on mine of 50/50 riding and the exhaust has not been a huge issue. I'm 5'10" and put the low seat on and it's perfect now. Best bike for on off roading IMO. If you want to do single track, get the right tool for the job...this isn't it unless you're last name is Jarvis.

Jamie, I want to do a cross country trip. Starting from New York City and head to Seattle Washington, from there go down the pacific coast line to Los Angeles then from there take old Route 66 all the way to Nashville Tennessee then back home to Michigan. I currently have 4 street bikes ranging from a 2017 Norton Dominator Naked like your buddy Adrian Picket, also a 2016 Commando SF 961, a 2020 Triumph Bobber TFC and a 2020 Ducati Diavel 1260s. I’m drawn to these new Triumph Scramblers and since I haven’t seen or ridden one yet, I appreciate your review. Planning my trip I’m interested in seeing as much as the country on paved and possibly gravel roads and camp sites at national parks. Would you recommend this Triumph Scrambler for my journey or something else? Please, no Japanese bikes lol. Also, could you recommend anything else I should know before doing this trip. It’ll be my first. I’m 49 years old and seek adventure.

Fair review. But if your experianced enough and confident i dont think its weight is a major problem. Other reviews ive seen that have liked this bike but aware of its weight and heat still believe it a good all round tool. So you can keep your Ducati scrambler. I would prefare this any day.

Tail tidy first then some real 50/50 tires Bark Busters and ram ball with mirrors. I have a 34" inseam so no lowering for me. the pipes I don't know what I would do with them? 21" wheel I like that! they should bring back a thumper version of this one say a 500 cc or 600 cc.

Jamie being as diplomatic as possible but really he can't wait to get back on his own Ducati Scrambler and I don't blame him LOL... So in a nutshell, It's too heavy, way too tall for normal sized people and not really a dual purpose bike, but it looks nice. So, if you want a proper all terrain bike, and money is burning a hole in your pocket do a u-turn towards a KTM 790 ADV, Yamaha T7 or BMW 850 GS (that's if you have enough talent of course) Or you could be pragmatic, save your hard earned and scratch that itch with a used DR650. You'll drop it a few times, learn a few things and won't cry about it when it's on its side. 8-P
