I love all this aero stuff it's really interesting. The issue is when you take it to the extreme it ends up being like F1 where people can't follow each other or get close enough in the break zones to pass.

Great news updates, thank you! Is that some kinda weird sliding seat on the Yamaha?? Compare 0:27 to 0.36. How come the seat pad is now all over to the inside, yet lines up on the right side? Weird.

I love the absolutely bonkers idea of: "Hey! Let's just turn the entire bike...into a wing! Hey, rider, you're a Diffusor now 👈🏻" To me, the Aprilia is pure beauty, form following function, shaped by wind (and insane engineers). Where can I talk to an aero expert about that for an hour or two?

Its ok rainman bikes are at the aero size limit and as long as bikes lean to turn ,its a whole different animal (you can have a bike that does not lean to turn through gyroscopes )

Yamahas new swing arm looks interesting, its enclosing much of the rear wheel... helping reduce transitional drag? Perhaps they've decided slick and sleek is the way to go, for anything that stick up or out might generate downforce also has drag. You want the air to flow around the bike as smoothly as possible, especially behind the bike to reduce transitional drag. Look at a Bonneville Streamliner (Best name for a band, if I ever launch one) - they're shaped like bullets. The Aprillia is looking interesting too, like they're trying to get a kind of laminar flow around the bikes sides.

Even in the ..official ...tests Yamaha will have the engine turned up to the max for the press . With so little track testing you would think they would focus on the yamahas reliability problems and handling strength . Especially now there are 20 more sprint races in 2023
