Thanks, his voice and style is easy recognizable but I didn't know he used to comment motorcycle races, I always heard him in his classic F1 comments along with James Hunt.

I’m swedish and it’s a little sad anderstorp is our largest motorsport venue. Could do well with some elevation change.

Extremely dangerous tracks those days, no decent run-off areas etc
@yds2506 жыл бұрын
You are right there. The DORNA outfit would not let the Spanish World Cup (MotoGP) race there in this day and age.

All tracks were like this back in the 80’s. The year after Spencer damaged his knee by hitting a strawbale at Rijeka in the former Jugoslavia.

It is a great track. I raced on it and also crashed without major problems.

Anthony Kernich Haha yeah right. Andetstorp was one of the safest tracks in it's time. 3 fatalities in 50 years.

And people always say it was better in my day!! WTF.. the track looks like a car park

What a dump ! Club racers would be right at home at this track, but holding GPs here bordered on farcical.
@Putinhuylo36 жыл бұрын
jamesd2128 Yet the world championships returned, year after year. :) But yeah, it's an awesome clubracer track. Niki Lauda liked it too. So did Spencer, Rainey etc... But it is a bit flat, I'll give you that. No wonder, it was built on a marsh.

It wasn't so much the track, it was the facilities. Also, they couldn't make it look pretty for the tv cameras. Moto GP wasn't always a sanitised and 'produced' product. It was also miles from anywhere, so if you ran out of beer......
@jojosthlm2 жыл бұрын
@@ewennicolson4342 Facilities was not up to standard. Lack of hot water in the showers is what I remember as the main disappointment. Can imagine that the pro riders were not used to cold showers 🤣
