I love this. As I watch it, many memories come back. My friend, 20yrs my senior, passed away aged 72yrs on a trail ride. Was still riding fast, still riding every weekend if possible. RIP Ron Rodger, you are sorely missed.

In 1991 a friend and I were out at El Mirage dry lake, riding our KTMs for the day. We were back at the truck, taking a break and two riders on XR250s stop by for a chat. One was 72 and the other was 77. I'll never forget our encounter and after they left I thought, I'll never stop riding dirt bikes until I am physically unable. Paul and Larry are just as inspiring. Great film!!

@ Frank These sixty years olds are basically pussies. I am 74 - sure I wouldnt go riding off road, I have no death wish, you can bet that sooner or later one of those old timers will end up on a weel chair and having to feed themselves through a straw. I always use the bike every day.

I saw this video last year. This is the way to live life!! These two guys have inspired me to get back into dirt riding after being out for 22 years. I crushed a vertebrae back then and thought i would never chance it again in the dirt. Now at the age of 47 i guess I'm young enough to give her another go? I'm having lots of fun and just wanted to say thanks for the wonderful story!!!!!

As a fellow rider who suffers from Meniere's, this video is inspiring and encouraging for me. People have told me before that I need to stop riding, but giving it up has never really been an option for me. It's good to know others out there are going through what I'm going through.

These two are inspiration. Glad someone video-taped them. Whoever it was, they have real vision for what this sport is about. They're getting the multi-generational aspect. They're getting that this about what's said between the rides. They're getting everything the Sueprcross guys just don't seem to ever get. Good job to Paul and Larry. And good job to guy who knew this was a story worth telling.

Hey, I get it. I'm 66 and just started riding this year. Bought a new BMW G650GS and I'm loving it! I ride pretty much every day, rain or shine, and now that "summer" is here (I live in Seattle), I'm riding the USFS dirt roads (I'll need a lighter bike before I can get into trail riding -- 425 lbs just doesn't cut it on single-track).

What a great video, and as a 50+ year old rider it really hits home. We're starting to see some health issues crop up that make it sometimes easier to say no to riding, or at least say no to the tougher rides. These guys are not only inspirational but educational. Exercise off the bike is key to a good time on the bike. Good stuff!

When I was a kid in the mid-70s, I rode motorcycles with my dad in an offroad club in Columbus, Georgia called the Broken Spokes. One of the members was Colonel Gwynne, a man who had to be close to 80 years old. He rode an early-70s DT175 Yamaha that was set-up for offroad use only and he could easily keep up during the big group rides we had. Some of these rides could be brutal in the Georgia summers, too. In my mind I can still see Colonel Gwynne up on the pegs and scooting up slippery, red clay powerline hills pretty good. It's hard for me to believe I rode offroad with a man who fought in WW1, the first one, not the second one. I never forgot him or his very charming wife... Mrs. Gwynne. I never knew either of their first names.

What a pair of great men, I am 73 and enjoy both off road on my DR 500 SUKUKI and long distance touring on a BMW K100RS. I also have vertigo and find it hard sometimes to walk in a straight line but I have never found it a problem when riding, I believe it is because my mind is focused on what is going on in front of me and I do not let it become a distraction. I also surprise a lot of younger riders when I pull up amongst them and take off my helmet and they see how old I am. More power to Paul and Larry.

Take from the following what you will. In the April 2016 edition of “Motorcycle, Sport and Leisure” magazine, Maureen Willis, a biker chick (of a certain age as they say) of Abergele, North Wales wrote under the heading “KEEP ON BIKING”- “Our hobbies included rock climbing, exploring, adventuring and, most of all, motorcycling and we have had a great life together. To all bikers l say “Keep on biking as long as you possibly can.” I am so sorry for anyone who, at their partner’s insistence, gives up biking”.
