Every time I watch one of your videos, I’m left wishing you’d open a branch in New Zealand, where this level of service is rarer than hen’s teeth.

Really well done. I'm a GSA rider looking to upgrade from my 3XL Bell Qualifier (which was an exceptional value, for what it's worth). I tried the new Scorpion and almost committed to it. I tried the RF-1400 and had a hell of a time trying to improve the fit - it turns out Shoei's heavily-marketed Personal Fit System does not apply to the 3XL helmet, and they list parts on their website, but they never manufactured the parts or added them to the dealer catalogs. That experience drove me to the next price tier and now it appears I'm a Schuberth person. I bought an E2 in 3XL, and it fits well with some room for improvement. All of this is just to say that after watching your video I know exactly what my options are, and I appreciate that to no end. Thank you.

I’ve purchased the C5 after watching reviews and reviewing the comments. After a couple of rides and a little over 300 kilometres I’m very impressed with the fit, comfort and Performance in bucketing rain (I live in Australia). The ventilation is great. The helmet doesn’t fog up and the tinted drop down visor is very effective when riding into morning sun. I find the there is a lot of room in the front of the helmet, which I really like. Initially I was concerned with pressure on my neck from the strap. A small amount of time adjusting the strap sorted the issue. The wind drag is less on the c5 than my arai helmet (a top of range arai helmet option). Range of view from the c5 helmet is better than my other helmets, albeit I’m only referencing arai helmets. The medium helmet fitted me perfectly out of the box so I was lucky. I’m also a fan of my arai helmets so I think the bench mark for comparison is high, but, So far the c5 is my new favourite helmet.

Thanks for a useful video. I bought the C5 online (not available where I live) and discovered its too loose even though the size is correct for other helmets I have. I've ordered the pads from your online store, not cheap but at least you have the ones I want! Too bad I couldn't fly up for a fitting :)

Excellent explanation and customer service. Guilford is close enough for a visit. Shame Schuberth didn't do this for the C4. After 3 years of use it still gives me fore head pain after an hour riding. My C3 was the best fit for me.

very informative video! unfortunately, I am from Switzerland and can therefore not take advantage your legendary services! However I would like to confirm that you know exactly what you’re speaking of! I bought the C-5 right after the Neotec 2 and are exactly facing these issues with the C-5, not fitting properly. I will try to recommend this video to all my friends as well as to the support of Schuberth, as not even their own homepage does I refer exactly to what to do if the helmet won’t fit.

Wish you had a shop in Southern California, I'm looking to move from my C4 to a C5 for the P/J rating. In the summer, here in SoCal, it is so much more comfortable ridding with the chin guard open knowing full well i am taking a risk. I acknowledge I don't know much if anything about proper fitting of the helmet but it would be great to have someone with experience like you verify the helmet fit rather than "just a store employee" say "shake your head...how does it move.' Thanks for your work on this it is very much appreciated.

Very interesting. I tried two different colour C5’s on in Germany recently and one was much tighter than the other despite being exactly the same size! I now assume padding was different in one to the other . A visit to Motolegends is due soon!!

Thanks Chris, wish I had seen your video before I purchased a C5 from overseas (I live in Australia) According to the fitting chart my helmet size 61 should be a perfect fit, but alas no.. my head size is exactly 60cm and as you would know 61 is for head sizes 60 - 61. The helmet is too loose and as it is the larger shell I don’t seem to be able to obtain thicker pads, I will send you an email soon to see if you have any Suggestions. Must also mention my dealer can’t assist as they don’t sell the inserts.. crazy hey

Sounds pretty complicated. Interesting given that in the E1 which is really just a C4 Pro you can buy thicker of thinner liners and cheek pads. So limited customisation since you can't change the shape, but some adjustment nonetheless.

Very informative. I wish you were closer, I’d come see you, but I’m in the states. Maybe you would give me your opinion. No one here stocks Schuberths so I’m shopping on line. I ordered a XL, and the cheek pads felt fine, but the helmet was a little loose. So I ordered a large, the head felt fine, but the cheek pads were tight. Should I go with a Large and order thinner cheek pads, or an XL with thicker head pads. My head measures 59-60cm.

If I bought a bigger helmet and want it to fit tighter, what pads do I buy ?
@windinthewillows6248 Жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, very much appreciate your videos. This is particularly interesting, as I am looking at buying the new Schuberth E2 helmet from you. However, now you don’t open at the weekends (understandable that your staff don’t want to work Saturdays), I nolonger have the option of visiting your shop for fitting. My only option now is to order online, but that puts me in a position, whereby I can’t have a custom fit! Are considering any options for online orders, whereby the buyer can get some custom pads with the helmet purchase, and then return the set with the ones unused an in new condition?
@larryleisuresuit9584 Жыл бұрын
So, they are never going to make any pads for the c3pro or c4 XXXL helmet right? so I should jus stop looking? try to make my own? I have and XXXL 64/65 and there is too much pressure on my forehead and teh cheek pads are way too fat smashing my face. It is vision impairing and the pressure is so high on my forehead it gives me a headache.

If you want better helmet speaker sound, put a 5-10 mm thick foam pad underneath the inserted speakers. Much closer to your ears, better sound! The speaker inserts in the helmet are too deep.

Hi Chris. Great video. One question. Can you change any of the pads on a XXL C5. I have the helmet and love it compared to my first generation C4 which was terrible. Mainly how loud it was. I live in Germany

I fit perfectly in the Arai Signet X in an XL. Will the C5 work for me?
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
No idea I’m afraid. Don’t know the Signet X. The Arai XL is 61-62cm and the C5 is 60-61cm. So not necessarily a good start!

Great video, out of interest if the customer gets given different pads to make the fit better, do they get to go home with the pads that originally came with the helmet, or do those pads go back into your stock for future customers?
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
They go back in to stock. Although if customers find the changes don’t work we can always go back to originals.

I tried an XL Schuberth C5 recently and my chin was right up against the chin bar. I get that there won't be an extended chin bar edition for large chinned individuals such as myself, but is there room that can be made in the upper padding?
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
Can never be totally sure, but in theory a thinner neck pad might sort it. Or go up a size and run thicker liners all round. Unfortunately, can only be done in person. Problem is that you might not like the answer! CP.

Hi Chris i have just bought a shoei neotec 2 for Au1099 dollars which i had to wait 2 weeks in white large size it fits fine but i was told that if i wanted different cheek pads etc it would be extra is the exchange thing not with every store ?
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
In theory, over here in the UK, every store can offer exchange liners for free. But it may be that this is an arrangement that is exclusive to the UK distributor. This is what the importer, Feridax, once told me. I didn’t really believe them, but perhaps it’s true! CC

Great informations mate!. I've also bought C5 for 2 weeks ago. everything fits perfect except the chin strap! I've tried many adjusting combinations as tighter, wider ore one side tight - the other wide.... but i could not be successful to fit thit strap on my neck perfectly. every combination is choking my neck more or lessbut choking anyway! please guide me if you know any trick on this because i've consumed my options on that. Or could you please create a guide video for that issue because when i look at the older forums for schuberth past models, so many people have this problem also.
@PeteFromOZ2 жыл бұрын
I tried both a medium and large size helmet. “Choking” was a real issue with the large whilst the medium was far less of an issue for me.
@nyazy2 жыл бұрын
@@PeteFromOZ absolutely! i've large size also, it's perfectly fitting my head but dame strap is not! i feel like a dog with a tight leash.
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
Okay, so there’s an issue here. Because on a flip-lid the front chin area is ‘lost’, the chin strap has to sit slightly further back. It’s one of the issues with flip-lids. And here in the shop we always get people to sit on the bike to check that the strap doesn’t conflict with their Adam’s Apple. It’s only rarely a problem, but if you have a short chin it can be. The strap cannot be adjusted, although we do sometimes make up a Neoprene sleeve for the strap to soften the contact area. Some flips work for some people better than others in this respect. It’s a matter of trial and error. But, bottom line, a flip-lid may not be for you. CP
@nyazy2 жыл бұрын
@@Motolegends thanks for your reply, actually i have not any problem with flip-lid system. i have also LS2 with flip-lid for the pillion passanger and its not makes me chocking when i put it on my head. i think the problem is schuberth's adjusting belt is a bit short when i compare with the other flip-lids and also their anti-roll of system belt does not allows to make an adjustment very well. for ex: i think if i placed strap area on my left under the neck and if i left only the belt line on my adam's apple area the problem probably be solved, because my LS2 allows to do it. but anti-roll of and short adjustment belt of schuberth is not allows it. at least if they've made a custom adjusting for roll-of as well it would be help but this system is very sharp sized.

Poorly fits long oval heads. I had to move up to a Arai. Its outstanding.
@Motolegends2 жыл бұрын
Someone has got confused somewhere, as the C5 is more oval than any Arai. An oval head should not be a problem in a C5, especially if you can change pads to fine tune fit. Not sure also of the logic of going from a C5 to an Arai. Flip to full face? Doesn’t’ take make a lot of sense to me. CC
@thejourneycontinues65352 жыл бұрын
Arai makes a true long oval - the Signet X but it is full face. It’s the only helmet that fits me. Moto legends is flat out wrong to say Arai does not make a long oval or intermediate oval. I’ve been measured as a long oval for my fedoras for years. I’ve spent thousands hoping to make other helmet brands work. Only Arai makes a real long oval. Period.

Thanks to motolegend my C5 is a much better fit. Do I recommend the C5. In a word no... The removable neck roll section always comes unclipped, when removing the helmet, in the end I had to make it non removable and glued it in. The remote control on the side of the helmet is difficult to operate turning off and on. Schuberth's customer service not interested... In protest, I have removed all Schuberth stickers, as I don't want to advertise for free. Buy Japanese.
