Good to see something meeting the new standard with a more 'mid-range' price, and also a helmet you could consider to be more 'fully featured' then Arai and Shoei's efforts. Will be interesting to see how these helmets score on SHARP tests, I know you guys don't rate them but it seems to sell a lot of helmets for HJC and a few other manufacturers.

Apart from the fit to head form, it would be nice to have a direct comparison between the three helmets in the 22-06 standard range so we can better understand what one gets by paying a higher price for the Arai and Shoei.

I hope its better than the shark spartan carbon I have owned with a couple of years. Have had shoei and agv helmets before and had no issues. I love the convenience of the sun visor on the shark, however I am not happy with some other points that only long term use will show . The clips that hold on the chin vent broke ?? , this part cannot be replaced , only by the manufacturer, so I now have gaffa tape holding it on. I have had two visors now start to show what I would call spider leg cracks spreading out around the holes in the visor where the pinlock plastic pins push through. I clean my visors with muc off visor cleaner, used this on different helmets and never had issues with and cracks. Also I ride a naked bike and when I am out in heavy rain the neck role seems to soak up the water which then starts to soak up into the helmet, it's like the base of the neck role should have a less absorbant material, again , no issues like this with any other helmets I have had . I only do about 5000 kms a year so not getting heavy use, pity really as I also invested in the shark tooth prime comms system shortly after buying it . Think I'll be going back to agv or shoei next time.

All Shark helmets have a five year warranty and the clip on the chin vent would be repaired under warranty. It would need to go back to the UK distributor for this but can be handled by the dealer you bought the helmet from. We find the UK distributor for Shark are very quick and efficient for any warranty issues we have. The cracks on the pins on the visor was an issue on a batch of visors and they were replaced free of charge. The fault has not been repeated. So, if the helmet was bought from us we could get it all sorted from you in double quick time! If you didn't buy the helmet from us, then I suggest you talk to the retailer you bought the helmet from.

@@Motolegends really appreciate your reply. I didn't purchase the helmet from you, I live in Ireland, will have to visit the dealer. I thought that they would put the chin vent breaking down to misuse and I would have a battle trying to prove it, even though I always take good care of my helmets. Worth a try anyway, thanks again

Very disappointing that despite this completely new design, Shark is still insisting on only 2 shell sizes. They really need to increase this to at least 3 if they want to earn the customer loyalty that Arai and Shoei enjoy. I'm a Shark L which means that when shopping for a new lid I will always try all competitor lids in an attempt to avoid the giant bobble head look.

Might buy one as I need a full face. Bought a Shark Evo ES thanks to your review. Love it so much so thanks. Have a round oval head so it's either Shark or Arai and I'm not spending $600 on a helmet lol.

@@Paspa1801 A £200 helmet that fits properly is always going to be safer than a £600 helmet that's not quite the right fit, either in terms of shape or size. Price isn't everything and it depends on the individual's budget. Don't be a self righteous, condescending arsehole.

I received mine today (RS Carbon) and I’m disappointed with the fit as the same size (XS) i have an AGV K1 which fits perfectly. The shark feels very tight on my temples and feels hard as well. Also the D ring feels quite tight to buckle up compared to my K1 which i could do with gloves on. Otherwise it looks and feels great, lighter than my K1 and sun visor is lovely to have.

I received mine.....it's a fabulous helmet indeed.....it does have a few quirky nic pics about it; however the helmet does feel like a well constructed amazingly beautiful alternative to shoei and arai. 🇺🇲

What's your opinion about ventilation an noise isolation after a month?

@@andreacremonesi2445 hello there.....it's winter here.. so if you open the top head vent you will feel a cold draft coming in. The neck roll keeps the helmet fairly quiet....however I can sometimes hear a whistling sound if you hold your head a certain way. The helmet will fog up if all the vents are closed. At the traffic light I flip the windshield up to keep from over fogging. The most annoying part of this helmet is the liner. You have to slide and snap into place...sometimes it works & sometimes it won't secure properly. I ended up super gluing the snaps permanently into place, so now have to keep liner in to wash it. Overall it's a quality helmet with a few oddities, it could be better. From 1 - 10 I rate this helmet at 7.

Do you have an opinion on whether the fit of this helmet is different to previous Shark helmets? I notice that the coverage of the cheek pads seems to be significantly less that in the Spartan, Race R Pro and so on, which is disappointing for me as I like the unusually great coverage they seem to provide in those helmets.

Shark should have continued on with adding the built in LED lights on the helmet. LED lights on helmets should be mandatory as part of the 22.06 safety standard.
