If I was back in the States I would go to Flyin' Miata for most things however, being in Switzerland I'm limited with registration restrictions... but I'm so close to SPS Motorsports in Germany and BBR GTI in the U.K. it would be tempting. My list of upgrades: - Lower the seat 1.2inches for better visibility, helmet clearance, lower C.O.G. and feeling down in the car. I'm 6'2" or 183ish cm and fit. - FM Hushomatic exhaust or SPS Quad exhaust (the center mounted twin is gorgeous but I want a light weight tow bar). - Light weight hidden towbar for towing extra wheels and tires or bicycles. - Ohlins Coilover suspension from BBR or SPS, Fox Coilovers from FM. - FM Little big brake kit in red. - BBR Super 220 kit or possibly the integrated Edelbrock Supercharger from SPS $$. - Carbon Fiber intake by ARMA. - DG Motorsports Carbon fiber hardtop out of Cali for winter or extended track use (It's beautiful). - Extended Billet aluminum shift knob or SPS upgraded shifter. - Corsa OZ Racing light wheels with red central lock cap and some 225 or 235 tires for track/summer. - I would start with lowering the seat, suspension, wheel spacers, exhaust, intake then wheels in the first year. - Budget $5k/yr for 3+ years and get to the track when possible... cheaper than therapy 😁👍😎🏎. - Maybe more durable fluids too. Thanks MotoMan!

I don’t see how cars can have bad informtainment systems when phone manufacturers are willing to do it for them. There’s zero excuses now.
@AngelManuelPerez6 жыл бұрын
Phone manufacturers are not willing to do it for them. They have their own software, and car companies have to figure out how to make the two communicate with each other which is why it has taken so long for Mazda to get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Mazda did release an update that supports both and will be free on some models. In fact, you can get it on models as far back as 2014.
@K03sport6 жыл бұрын
Clarion, alpine, jvc, pioneer, etc are getting in the business of making car infotainment systems; i.e. Clarion makes the one for Subaru...AA & ACP are additional software that have to be added/integrated into the system...and since these systems are also so complex now that they incorporate vehicle systems these are traditional single DIN swap outs...
@SicSemperBeats6 жыл бұрын

There are many good reasons why they should be seperate , I'll give you two of my favorites , 1 Versatility , I used my phone for running others apps while driving that have nothing to do with music or navigation , IE Torque and other racy apps that give you things I enjoy , another and most importantly is GPS .. unless you've traveled alot you wont realize that sometimes your phone loses signal . it just does I've never had a carrier that is truly universal , But the infotainment in my MX-5 has never left me stranded and lost in an unknown part of the country ... also the Accuracy of the GPS in the Car is way better then that of your phone ..

Going to change your question a bit because I'm in the UK. So I'd take mine down to BRR GTi and get a turbo kit. Rumor has it they are making a stage 3 kit with over 300hp and a new trans... Especially in the UK I feel this is too much... We have too much police and speed cameras etc. And our roads are too narrow and small for stupid speeds. So instead I think the 200-250hp is more than enough. So either their simple remap. (Gets the new 2.0 to 220hp) or their stage one kit that makes about 250hp Most likely the remap. No turbo lag and about half the price of the full turbo kit. Before you know it, throw some stiffer springs on and better brake pads you have an absolute B road king!

@kleinbottled796 жыл бұрын
Flyin' Miata: I haven't looked at their specific packages for the ND. But I know what I would be looking for basically. Less body roll for one. That might be as simple as a sway bar or two. Might take more. They would know. Budget up to $4,000 if that's what it takes to feel how I want. Second; Exhaust and "Stage 1 NA tune" Primarily for a bit nicer sound. Probably would stop short of headers unless the hp/cost is truly favorable. Catback and a tune. Should be under $1500. $5500 max total budget; with luck a lot less.
@vossler3606 жыл бұрын
Since you asked, if I had a 2019 ND in the GT-S or Club trim, I would start with suspension upgrades from FM. allowing myself a budget of around 5k to play with. I would probably start with the stage 2 Koni package for $1300, which includes springs, shocks, and anti-roll bars. mainly because it would reduce body roll while still preserving some of the softness of the factory setup, which provides for better grip on uneven surfaces. www.flyinmiata.com/nd-koni-stage-2-suspension-kit.html Then I would go for a few exhaust upgrades, such as the high flow midpipe for $650 and the exhaust for $740. A proper sports car needs a proper sports car sound track, after all.

So this is where I get a little annoyed. First the weight for the RF is 2450-2500lbs depending on options. The horsepower is 181 to the wheels. And it is a coupe. And everyone loves it. "so much power, so well balanced, and the hard top is exactly what it needs" rewind to 2013 the 86 platform was officially launched and it met all the same specs and it was panned for not utilizing the back seat better, being underpowered and having prius tires. The miata has no back seat, comes with really crappy tires and has the same power to the wheels. So why all the hate for the 86... Even now it is constantly ripped for not having more power🤔. Don't get me wrong, I autocrosser a clubsport last weekend and it was fun but I find the 86 to feel more solid.

I understand your argument, but a Miata is too different to compare. This is why most new Miata's are bought as second vehicles. I had a VT before my ND and now having my Mazda3, I've realized it is so much more fun to drive, MPG is 8mpg better, and its just as fast with the 2.5L engine. I can't speak to second gen VT's tho. I would just test drive the heck out of it before you buy. Hyundai's are good on paper, that was the mistake I made when buying mine, not comparing it to enough other vehicles.

Joe De La Garza Your so wrong, this car will go down in history as one of the best looking cars ever . I do own one and I look at it constantly, so I’m clearly biased, but I think you’ll find over time this design will only look better

John Dempsey. When the car first came out I thought it was ok looking but over time I have not liked the overall design, especially the rear. I think that in Mazda’s quest to reduce weight they shortchanged the rear end and made it less attractive and practical. Only time will tell how sales hold up. Or how soon they redesign it.

Have to disagree. Car looks like a jaguar and I fucking love it. When I'm done paying off my NC I'm definitely getting a 2019.

Casty Plays. Yeah it kinda looks like a cross between a Jag XK and Honda Del Sol. But hey, if you love that sort of thing, go for it.
