Thank you for the info!. To note the second drain plug next to the oil plug with screen is the actual oil drain plug. So should open the oil drain plug 1st then open the oil filter screen 2nd clean then reinstall then refill oil. Generally all GY6 engines take about one quart of 10w-40

I realize this video is fairly old....but it is the same setup as the new Linhai Crossfire LHU2000 "Adult Golf Cart". This is also the ONLY video I've been able to find to explain this simple process. The golf cart has a manual...but it doesn't show anything, and the English is...well....rough. If you don't mind, please add a Tag or edit name to include the Crossfire Golf Cart.....this video is badly needed in that community. I might do one as well...but yours is the first I've seen and I've been looking hard. Thanks!!!!

You were wise not to jack with the other bolt. Overtorqued by factory slung my wrist into the frame when it finally broke free. Some huge screw that was hollow inside and with a ball bearing on the end. No oil came out of it either since it all came out of the other one. Wish I'd found your video before. No idea if that was supposed to be there or if it broke free inside. My transmission had been leaking so I was replacing. I think the rear bolt is stripped some how. It makes it to the final twist and then doesn't want to tighten. Thanks for the video.

Wow, Tom, some bad news on the bolt. I thought it might be something to do with the transmission, not sure. Thanks to you for confirming to leave that one alone - this info will be helpful to the other gy6 owners who also wish the Chinese would learn how to write manuals for their equipment.

Thank you so much. I have a Cazador 170 (179cc) and no manual. What engine oil weight? What transmission oil weight?
@billthames95642 жыл бұрын
engine oil depends on your area temperature. Here in mid- texas where it rarely gets below 40 degrees, I use 20W40 or 30 weight. wouldn't use synthetic on a brand new engine - needs to break in with regular oil If you are in colder climates , probably want 10W40. wouldn't ever go to a thinner weight in these air cooled engines. On the transmission, I used 75W90 - I think there's a picture of it in the video.

That bolt you said not to take well took it off was like a gray fluid how do I refill it?
@billthames95643 жыл бұрын
Motor oil would be black, so if its gray, it must be old transmission fluid. You can verify that it wasn't motor oil by checking your motor oil dipstick. My video that you watched tells how to refill the transmission fluid . New transmission fluid will be gold colored. wear gloves - that transmission fluid really stinks

How often do I have to change the transmission oil??
@joenovice54767 жыл бұрын
what makes sense to me is to change the tranny oil every 600 miles and the motor oil every 300 miles. That dirty transmission oil that is shown in the video was about 600 miles, and it was also the original transmission oil that came in the kart, so technically it was "break-in" oil, and may have been carrying some metal shavings, etc.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have almost the same buggy, the DFG200GKD. The only difference is the roll cage and front end. You are correct about the lack of documentation, all I got was a manual that appeared to be for a different product or too general in nature. I had read that you should change the oil soon after riding a little. Mine has 24 miles on it so I went to change the oil and drained the gear oil instead, lol. I had no idea where to re-fill it until i saw your video. By the way in one of your related videos (I watched all 3) you mentioned that it had 6 or 7 hp I think? These have approximately 10hp. Sometimes I've seen them listed as 7.5Kw which translates to about 10hp. Please share any more helpful info you have acquired. Here is a video I made of mine, and yes it was fine at the end. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eH3HcmmFrpehbsk
@billthames95642 жыл бұрын
Great video of your kart. Yeah, it may be 10 HP. When I bought mine in 2014, they had just "upgraded" the engine from 149CC to 170CC or so they said. Will do 30 MPH on level road. Mine now has 1200 miles on it, with 90% of it being in rough terrain. All the geometry, struts, springs, etc on this kart have never failed, and the grandkids hit some pretty tough bottomings, so I think it is well engineered to be an off road vehicle. I encourage you to make the wheel lug changes mentioned in my You Tube video. I will leave the url at the end of this reply. I had some instances of the fenders flying off ( you gotta have fenders if you go in mud), but I fixed that by welding on some slightly larger plates where the bolts go thru to hold the plastic fender on the frame. the only really maddening thing that it did was that the FUSE HOLDER, of all things, rusted inside (poor chrome coating), and caused intermittent problems with starting. I almost never figured that one out - who looks INSIDE a fuse holder?? that's what you get with Chinese stuff: some well done stuff and some poorly done cheapo stuff. I also changed out the 9 MAH battery for a 14 MAH battery. starts with only half a turn of the starter, even in 10 degree weather. had to enlarge the battery box a bit. go to this url: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pImvlHqwopmCfZo

@@billthames9564 Thanks for the reply Bill! And for the tips re. the fuse holder and wheel lugs. It's nice to know that overall it's reliable. I don't have little people driving mine and I'm looking to up the HP, I'd like about twice what it has now. This 169cc motor is a GY6 but it has a slightly different head size than the 150ccs that have tons of performance mods available, although intake and exhaust mods should be the same. Also I understand one of the best improvements you can make to the GY6 is changing the variator slide weights in the CVT/torque converter. Supposedly it allows it to operate at higher RPM, etc. but I'm not sure if they are the same as the ones for the 150cc. If you are ever interested in performance mods I'll share more of what I've learned and learn by doing in the future. Take care and thanks again. - Alan
