What a wonderful video this is showing the coach rally and the way things were on the roads with level crossings and steam operated railways holding up the passage of the motor vehicle. I especially liked seeing one of Jack Wingrove's coaches from my neck of the woods in Buckinghamshire. They operated some interesting vehicles and later went on to merge with Surmans' of Chinnor if memory serves me correctly.

The rally was 1959, the Wingrove of Haslemere Bedford SB1 Duple Super Vega 789 GKX (seen in first half of film waiting at railway crossing) was new to them in February 1959, and Bedford SB3 Plaxton 999 JPF new to Comfy Coaches, Farnham April 1959 was driven by R W Smith the winner that year. It would have been the 5th Coach Rally, it started in 1955
