learned a lot in this video. have a similar problem with the recovery boat I think the collet is offset. I'll try your trick

I'm glad to see that little thing finally get the love it deserves. I only ran it once or twice; tried that turn fin, and it went to the back of the shop for "future tinkering" and it languished for years. I think that stock motor is around 2300 Kv.

Credit to you Big B, that is one genius tip 👌 I face a similar issue with Doctor Jet's latest challenge where I have a motor with a 1.5mm shaft and I'm stepping up to a 2mm drive. I have a collet, so I'm going down the blue Loctite route for sure. Thanks so much for sharing brother 👍😉

Yep that's the dern challenge finding something to connect the motor to the drive line. You'll be amazed at what a little CA and plastic tight fitting tube will do with those little drivelines and such light weight boats

What's up Big B I've been on another adventure for a while. Great idea 4 shimming the collet on bigger shafts I've done like a auto center punch and then put a series of little punch marks equal distance all the way around the shaft will make little small dents in it so it takes up the slack in it as well.. like three dance at the three position 3 dentastix ingredients of 9 through 10 to 12 or you know I'm saying you can do more but along with her even distances and the same amount of ding in the shaft of the One-Stop bigger than the other making it pull to one side of the other you know what I'm saying but I like your idea right there on small stuff a lot better great idea and that thing runs a whole lot smoother than it was

when you do that with the set screw off wont gravity pull the shaft side of the coupler down and it will dry crooked? Maybe take motor out and stand upright in a vise?

If my prop spins left hand (ccw) as seen from the transom, which coupler do I need? Reversed or positive? I'm guessing reverse because for me positive is cw. Thanks big b

im working on a aquacraft6 gp1 right now actually same sorta style boat im using the wire drive but with a 2mm to 2mm coupler it rips i can barely keep it on the water i used the shark 40s esc and 4000kv motor i think maybe i should go down to 3650 or maybe a little 2200

Oh man the gp1 is an ultra lite boat. Be careful they will break and Crack at a high speed crash. A buddy of mine had one that thing was fast as all get up!
