Thanks a lot for your amazing job. I just want to know wich way you use to powered the light kit, im sure that you have find the smallest and hidden solution. thanks again
@recklessglitch2 жыл бұрын
Its not so simple as with power functions, since you cannot stack the plugs in any way and both ports of the hub are used. The smallest solution would be to take off some insulation of the 2 center wires of the powered up cable of one of the motors. They should carry the power and ground. Then connect a tiny step down converter, put it on 6V and behind that put your LED power cable.
@RassbaRC2 жыл бұрын
@@recklessglitch Thank you for your answer but in fact I used a micro powerbank that I manage to hide next to the engine under the car. If you want to do even better for the wiring of the light kit you have to order 50cm connection cables and after that you can't see any cables even inside. Thanks again for all you do!
@alexbarrera85818 ай бұрын
This looks great! Thinking of trying it out, but I want to avoid dealing with constant battery swaps. Considering the BuWizz 3.0, like you used in the Delorean, for a more permanent charge solution. How easy is it to replace the powered-up hub with the BuWizz 3.0 in the Ecto-1? Also, I've got the Game of Bricks light and sound kit in mind. Already got your instructions - any thoughts on adding the BuWizz 3.0 to the Ecto-1? Cheers!
@recklessglitch8 ай бұрын
This question has been asked on rebrickable before and I actually have a buwizz (used it for the DeLorean) and it's great. Unfortunately it is one stud longer and has the sockets on top, so it would be quite difficult to build it into the same place (under the front seat bench) You would need to put it in upside down and change the base frame, to make space for the buwizz. BUT: honsestly, changing the batteries (use rechargable, also see my delorean video for the reason) is very quick. I leave the LEGO hub open, so I just pull them out and back in as I showed in this video. Besides, you dont have the problem of an internal battery going bad after some time.
@alexbarrera85818 ай бұрын
@@recklessglitch Thanks for the info! I'll go with the hub and hunt for some good rechargeable batteries. Did the hub handle your lighting kit and motors, or did you need an extra power bank for the lights?

Hey man, just curious, did you consider to use Medium Linear Motor (88008) since it does have position sensor and it should work just fine with this small technic hub? It only have 4 pin connections near the motor shaft, though. Dimensions of this motor are 4 x 6 x 3 studs. There's also a Small Angular Motor (45607), but it's still new/rare and I can't confirm if it works with technic hubs at all, even with third-party apps, such as controlz and brick controller 2.
@recklessglitch2 жыл бұрын
Sure I considered it, I checked most of the current motors as drive and steering motor. The 88008 is big and white. You'd see it as steering motor in the car right away. Didn't like that idea. The L motor looks much better, since it's dark as the floor and slim. But you can use the 88008 as the drive motor. I have included some images how to fit it in instead of the M-Motor in my instructions.

If it keeps rotating it means its not attached. The programming is asuming a steering mechanism and first thing it tries to find its boundaries in each direction, the steering limits.
