Thanks for the pleasant trip down memory lane. Back in the ‘90s I used to live in Bellerose near Winchester Blvd., and often cycled in Alley Pond Park. I even found an old Maitencock Indian burn trail that long predates the Cross Island Parkway. Using the bicycle paths, I’d make my way through Alley Pond Park, down the73rd Ave. bike lane and across 164th St. to Kissena Park where I’d zip around NYC’s only remaining velodrome. Bowne Park has apparently become a haven for geese of late…
