I love the simplicity of your diagram at 0:34 shows you can switch which winding is in series with the run capacitor. When spinning in reverse, the thicker gauge wires and capacitor take the majority of the current, rather than the traditional scheme of putting the thinner gauge start windings in series with the cap. The alternate option to find a way to reverse the relative direction of flow through the start windings would take a double throw double pole switch.
