Motor scooter shopping part 2 What did they choose?
Motorcycle shopping in Pattaya Day 2 for a look at some other dealers and other brands, Roy and Anne are looking in opposite directions, With Anne wanting something retro and trendy, While Roy wants something of an all rounder. So today we look at more bikes and narrow it down to just a few with Anne giving us a surprise change of heart.

I had a Honda Wave 110, fuel injection, always started on the first kick ( basic model, no electric start, 555) and very good gas mileage. Semi automatic, centrifugal clutch, just let up on the throttle and shift gears. Rode her all over Thailand and had a ball. But I do understand the popularity of automatic scooters.

Congratulations guys on the deciding to buy the Honda PCX my choice as well just register it in your name so ownership is not a problem in the future and get the best bike insurance you can I also bought a brake disc anti theft lock or and handle bar brake lock to help prevent it been stolen. The most important thing with these bikes must be oil serviced regularly every 3,000ks will then get longevity out it. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul

Be sure to change the engine oil and transmission fluid every 2500k ....not the recommended 5000k. Thats what i do on my Honda Click 160....and you will get many years of trouble free riding. Cheers Steve

Get a scopy and tune it, best option, cant have any stuff or gods between the legs on a Toscany, but on a scopy youll have god space.

I was hoping all along that he would choose the PCX !. That’s what I rent whenever I go over to Thailand , and actually bought one when I got home here in the states because they are so fun to ride and the motors are bullet proof . I do have a question though… did you ever consider buying a low mileage used one to save 30 to 40 thousand baht ? The reason I ask is because my brother just bought a place in Phuket , I’m considering buying one and just leaving it at his place ( last winter I payed 30,000 baht to rent a pcx150 for three months ) I don’t want to buy a new one as I won’t be living there year round but will probably buy a used one ,… is it a hassle or risky to buy a used one there ? It appears there’s some good deals on Facebook market place,… thank you !

I am moving to Pattaya in early/mid 2024 and fancy a Piaggio MP 400 hpe, allegedly they are available in Thailand but have not seen any in the dealerships around Pattaya. Good choice in the end….wonder who persuaded him for the PCX160…the gf?? Thais love Honda as have huge market share in mbikes & reasonable to service. My choices would be the ADV or PCX….even tho more expensive there much better than the Chinese models. Good luck!!🛵😉😎🙏🏼

Had an Aerox before. it was great. The Italian stuff is overpriced. Maybe import taxes? And their "name".
