We toured a bout at the Grand Dunes Marina but it wasn’t the one. George Town is another cool town I look forward to explore by water or maybe a nice ride up on GEM the blue scooter.

Both such great towns! We've been to Georgetown a few times but the stay when we shot this video was our longest. It was the weather that kept us there but we're so glad it did as we really got a feel for it. And yes - the seafood!

Hey Dennis - we haven't done the Loop yet but have several friends who have. OLOH stands a bit too tall as-is but we have a hinged radar mast and if we removed our domes we could make it. Not sure if we'll ever do the whole thing but, like all cruisers, it definitely intrigues us!

What is an average fee for docking overnight? What speed do you maintain and what’s your gph burn rate??

Great question. Docking fee can vary wildly but for much of where we stay on the ICW it seems to average out at around $2.25 - $2.50 per foot with some marinas charging $10 or $15 additional per night for electric (a single 50 amp cord in our case). Many marinas offer discounts, usually around 10%, for being a member of Boat US, Sea Tow or some other club or service. We typically cruise at around 10 knots where we burn approximately 10 - 12 gallons per hour. It often works out to 1 nautical mile per gallon. Worth waiting for 😎🐾, another goodie & hey... what's the draft on OLOH please? Do you feel, on the routes you've been running, on the ICW, would a draft of 6ft 8" be excessive?

Thanks Douglas! OLOH draws just under 5'. We would not be comfortable running 6'8" through several stretches of the AICW. It *could* be done with a few exceptions where it would be prudent to go outside and there would be many areas where transiting at high tide would be critical. You are likely aware of the ICW Cruising FB Group by Bob423. It is a terrific resource for the very latest in the notoriously shoal areas. AquaMaps has also proven essential with its overlay of the USACE surveys, often showing the deep water is not where the marked channel is.
