Good video, thanks. One question....Would't the forward facing camera be aligned with the "center line" rather than the "thrust line" if they are not coincident? Your comment was that the camera is aligned with the thrust line. Maybe I don't understand how these systems work.

The camera is aligned to the centerline of the vehicle. But if the thrust angle is off, the vehicle will "dog track" down the road and the centerline of the vehicle will actually be pointed left or right of the lane's centerline. The same problem occurs when ride height is inaccurate - the camera may look down too far or up too far, and that will impact how the collision avoidance system will react.

These system all tie into one another, like it or not.

I know at my last employer, when doing alignments especially, the computer would tell you if S.A.S. or anything needed "relearned". While I was looking for the batt maintainer to do so, they'd be ask me why I'm wasting my time, you don't get paid for it, so it don't matter.... plus it takes too long.

'Be the go-to guy instead of the guy going to'. Love your logic. Auto techs today are in a unique area that is experiencing logarithmic rate-of-change. That's engineer-speak describing the tenuous situation techs face with the need for constant training. Think of the shop owner's investments? Ouch!

Tiger Woodz I wish the i car training was better and the test for aluminum is kinda a joke

I-CAR, I'm sure, offers training as do most of the larger training suppliers like NAPA, CarQuest, WORLDPAC and others.

Motor Age I - Does anyone else besides Icar offer ford aluminum 5xxx training? I didn’t realize I car offers ADAS training?

@@weldingjunkie Not that familiar with other collision mechanical training. And I'm not sure how in depth they go with ADAS

@@weldingjunkie you should do hands on live I worked at Caliber collision and received a free class. Using map gas. But my opinion that a waste of time. When it comes to aluminum you are mostly replacing then repairing it. I'm all around into automotive anything. I just desire to have the opportunity/knowledge before hand. I want to be fast, efficient and 20 steps ready for any test. And I don't mind learning. I strive for best practices.
