Games like Kickstart, motocross mania did this stuff on consoles. But elasto mania was one of the earlier purely physics based "drive a motorbike across stuff" game on a 2d plane on pc, or one of the earliest one and it did some pretty crazy stuff and you could make your own levels and die and all that stuff. Elasto Mania was basically a game about hanging onto rails with your tires and collecting apples.
