I went there 5 years ago , stayed between Almeia and Malaga , costal road was great went through caves ect ect , went up in the mountains from the coast and had a week near Sierra Nevada where the spaghetti Weston’s where filmed , took my Bike to the top of Sierra Nevada 11,487ft then took the abandoned road back down which was bucket list stuff over the ice cap , not bad considering my bike was only 110cc lol

We have a place in Australia called Squeaky Beach and it sounds exactly like you did walking around that film lot, I suspect for the same reason.
