I love these Hokkaido series'. Have you ever considered a winter version? That extreme snow and cold would create some very interesting content!

I'm going to take a guess at the "structure" at 16:43. It looks like a "tunnel" to protect the road from snow. Considering it's Hokkaido, where you get meters of snow in Winter...

What beautiful water! I wonder what the chemistry of it is if you can't drink it and can't eat the fish from it. We like the stories of you talking to people. It was so funny to hear the reaction difference between Hokkaido folks and others about bear sightings. The restaurant discussion from about 18:20 to 19:50, your graphic says the restaurant is Nokke Todowara,, close by but across the Kushiro River from the restaurant you are actually at, Ningyonoie/Coffee &Rest 人形の家 . Maybe the GPS isn't resolving very precisely or maybe you drove past Nokke Todowara and that popped up on your screen. The armband pieces could be glued and sewn back together. It is kinda funny that Mt Io, the sulphurous smouldering mountain, is like the Jovian moon Io, the most volcanically active body in the solar system. You can actually see it shooting jets of ejecta contrasting with the dark empty space.

oh maybe i was confusing how i spoke about the restaurants, i didn't mean to say i had been at the same place I ate, i meant to say i had eaten somewhere in town before. -E

I don't know. I finally made it back home to California after 8 years and the water is just bad. Even the bottled water. Having a hard time drinking it. Tap water in Fukui is so much easier to drink and i'm sure the natural spring water is even better. Bidets and water have been my biggest complaints after coming home. Salmon always try to spawn in the same place they were hatched. They'll make it as long as their not eaten.

man no bidets in america is a serious issue.

@@kydeanderic My dad came last year. I got to stay in a US military hotel near Ginza. I guess it's the hotel where the presidents stay when they come. NO BIDETS IN THE ROOMS!!! The guest toilets downstairs did.

Yeah, I can relate to the bear story. A few years ago, we were on Long Beach Peninsula, here in Washington. We excitedly told a shop owner that we'd seen a family of eagles on the beach. We got a totally blank look in return. We realized, in hindsight, that it was like telling someone in Seattle that you'd seen some pigeons.

@ikaruseijin014 ай бұрын
Yep they return to the place they were spawned to lay eggs. So if they're trying to get up the waterfall it means that it can be done and that the fish were hatched up river.

Hey man, we totally appreciate the support but for the postcard thing this is tricky to keep track of, and in the future we could easily miss this. We are good for this month and will get you one, but can you send us an email so we can get a mailing address? I don't think we don't have access to one anymore from Patreon for security reasons. kydeanderic(at)kydeanderic(dot)com . -E
