I often use Gaia GPS to locate campsites in advance, but sometimes the sites turn out to be inappropriate or inaccessible. On this trip I used Gaia, my Garmin GPS, iOverlander, and OnX to locate places to camp with varied results. What do you use to find a camp site? In a future video, I'll look at the different ways to find a place for the night when you're far from home.

That’s the beauty of an adv bike. A little gravel is no big deal.

In upcoming videos, I'll have more experiences where my sport touring bike found its limits.

Traveled into Winnemucca several times for overnight stays via motorcycle. The town isn’t sketchy at all. Some great folks all friendly from my experience.

Thanks. That feeling kind of contradicts my earlier comments about people being basically kind. I think I just felt insecure about leaving my stuff while I was in a grocery store for a while.

US 50 is nice, but US 6 from Tonopah to Ely is way more lonely. 168 miles with no services and just breathtaking desert. If you go again I do recommend!

I rode the Extraterrestrial Highway a few years ago from Crystal Springs to Tonopah. My introduction to Nevada. I'll be back.

Nice to see your comments about riding in heat ( I made comments on another video before viewing this). I had phone discharge issues in heat on my last trip-(should have brought out my garmin sooner). I thought it was due to my 12V adaptor or cord ( made for quite an adventure). I've dumped my Vstrom 3 times ( 2 slow turns in sand or soft soil and once backing out of a parking spot). It really spooks you when riding solo ( all events a nice bystander helped me pick it up- never too proud to play the senior card lol). I always like to chat w/ at least one neighbor at camp ( only one didn't seem friendly enough for some small talk). Helps make memories. Thought I was getting looted at midnight once in camp-turned out to be three racoons going through packaged food I left out on picnic table- If it was a bear I'd rather not know lol. I've enjoyed all your content so far.

Thank you. I'm working on a video now that shows the limits of the RS for off-pavement riding. I almost got in over my head a couple of times, but I also used caution considering the situations.

Nice video! Regarding security it's wise to always have a sidearm. May never need it, but it's great when you need one.

I'm from Canada. The only arms I can carry across the border are attached to my body.
