I bring my old clutch friction plate at the machine shop, i ask them to measure, and they said 2.7 mm, wow i'm happy that my clutch friction plate is still new. Thank you Innova for this video. Now i know that the first we should replace is the primary clutch shoe and clutch bell. The mc mechanics dont measure the secondary clutch, they just say you need to replace both primary and secondary clutch.

Thanks for sharing your information. When I disassembly and then returned the plates to place, I did not makes the angular tilt between the plates, so it took them a while to back to their place, till then, there were slight slips at the clutch, which caused unnecessary erosion. So whoever disassembles and does not replace, will put the discs back one below the other, at exactly the same angle they gone out, and at the same place where they was in the basket.

At 4:15 you see two gears. One (thick) is responsible for taking the load. The second (thin), when his spring in tension, it is act as ant-backlash gear mechanism. It's an anti-free-play mechanism. I'm guessing the spring taking tention to prevent vibrations and clicks in the transmission. If Honda engineers was decided that such a mechanism is needed, the transmission should not be assembled in a different way. Improper assembly can lead to property and health damage (car accident !!), and even death. The alignment mark is designed to ensure a fair amount of spring tension, not too loose, and not too tight.

Yes, the crankcase can be split without causing damage to the crankshaft bearings, this is possible. But I'm not sure it is wise to leave the old bearings and not replace because the work involved in this opening is the major part of the financial expenses in that repair job, so if everything is already open then it is common to replace the bearings, even if you don't suspect damage. And there are cases where there is a mandatory to replace bearings, sometimes there is a mandatory to replace the crankshaft as well.

Hi. The Washer 0:50 90403-KPH-900 IS Extremely important. The washer must return to its place and has a tendency to move out of place during installation, so that issue requires a lot of attention during the reassembly. The mark 2:48 is also Very Important for proper installation. A bad installation will lead to clutch major malfunction or cause any other great damage. The installation failed 3:44 because of the two issues you asked about.

I just have a question..on what position does the clutch plate facing. Sharp edge facing the clutch basket? Or Round edge facing the basket? Some mechnics in my area argue on this matter.they say as long as the're facing tge same ditection no matter what side it wont have a problem.same says if the round edge facing you it make the clutch fiber slips.pls enlighten me on this..cuz i replace may clutch fibers,clutch outer comp.,wieghts and springs but still it feels like its sleeping.i wonder i need to replace the clutch plate too with new ones or theyre just facing the wrong way

In my opinion the round side does not matter (the cutting edge of part No:22321-KGH-600 is round because of its manufacturing process). The discs with the pads(22201-KPH-700) are double-sided, so always both sides of the friction disc touch the pads. Higher friction is created when we changing the material of the pads to one with higher friction, or when we installing stronger springs. The round disc has no effect on friction. Honda Innova has only 3 metal discs and all the three are in a sandwich between pads. For the good of uniformity only, for mechanical "beauty", I would choose a direction and assemble the three of them in the same direction.

Usually the recommendation would be to replace all the discs as a set, 3 smooth discs and 4 friction discs with the pads. Otherwise a lack of uniformity between the new pads and the old discs leads to slipping, and it takes several hundred kilometers until everything is aligned to his place.

@@MyINNOVAMotorcyclingthnaks for the reply. i didnt replace the 3 steel clutch plates and the rest is new and genuine parts too.check the compression if it still in recommended psi and its fine,replace ignition coils and spark plug for new ones.maybe thats the reason its still slips and it exceed its service limit.a common friend recommend me a mechanic,he's a former honda mechanic and he told me that it is posible thats the cause of slipping and that i should replace the plates and friction/fibers as a set.he recommend me to use faito clutch fibers (racing clutch friction from japan) for much more optimum performance since im always have a back rider.and it has a good brand reputation here in my country,maybe i will try that..anyway thanks for the info sir

@@cikyablyat1913 If you do not replace clutch discs as a set, the clutch slips until it adapts to the old parts. This is normal, and the way to avoid it is to replace everything as a set. Clarified: Loss of compression pressure is not related to clutch slip, it is related to power loss in general. Neither the coils nor the plug cause the clutch to slip, only cause a loss of power. Clutch pads with higher friction allow higher torque to be transmitted, but Honda Innova does not have high torque, unless special improvements are made in the engine, etc. So, for example: In a racing kit you will find clutch pads with higher friction material.

No, I measured the used friction discs and they have 2.7mm thick, which are as a new disk. The clutch pads are very thin, that's how it comes originally. As you can see in the video, the other parts of the clutch, the plates, are not particularly worn. I did the disassembly to replace the engine and gearbox bearings.

I had a similar problem when the bike was new. When the engine is cold, with the rotation of the throttle, when the centrifugal clutch should engage gradually, then vibrations would appear. At some point it stopped to vibrates.
