Motorcycle.com don’t insult my intelligence KTM 390 Adventure is an amazing value!!!

My breakdown of motorcycle.com comparing the 2023 Ktm 390 Adventure to the Ducati desertX and the Aprillia 660 toureg shilling is shilling ! Don’t insult our intelligence 🙄

I just picked up my ‘23 390 Adventure and paid just over $7200 out the door (Michigan), brand new. I’m a 40 year old dude who has been on 2 wheels, on road and off-road, my whole life. For the money in this current day, you absolutely cannot find a better all around bike for the money. It’s a very fun bike, super easy to ride and offers the utmost confidence to any rider skill level. She’s a joy to ride.

$7200 OTD is a killer price!! I'm on the west coast everything is really expensive , these bikes sell as fast as my dealer can get them on the floor. Enjoy the bike. Safe riding friend.

I'm in Michigan as well. Was quoted $7500 otd on the '23 with the rebate. Haven't got it yet but it's the only one they have. Where did you get yours?

My starter bike. I still enjoy it after 1 year and don't intend to sell it anytime soon. With now new exhaust it's a dream to ride.

If I paid 27k for my adventure bike I would never take it off pavement for fear of dropping it.

i'm with you . Any bike i buy with offroad use intended is at some point going to flop over :( id much rather do it on a less expensive bike. :)

Totally agree. I have seen more than one comparison review that has left me wondering how they even considered that fair. There a very few reviews I consider valuable. Reviewers enjoy the trips to exotic locations for the press releases, too much, or don't want to upset their local dealer. I ride an R1200RT and I very rarely hear a reviewer be overly critical about the 'agricultural' gearchange and quick shifter, or that there is no where to mount a phone/gps/camera. The 1250 is not much better. Don't get me wrong, it is a great touring bike. The 390 is on my shortlist, as I want to do some light off road riding. I am not going to lose sleep if I scratch the paintwork, plus I can probably pick it up without injuring myself. At 6' 3" tall, I probably won't take a 6000 mile tour on the 390, but it is roomy enough for a few days riding.

I'm with you , rarely will you find a neutral review when the manufacturers are your main Ad income stream. The 390 is an excellent second bike for off roading or just ignoring the clock with little risk in tip overs. My Triumph 1050 is my main road bike but i'll happily ride anything :) safe riding friend.

I saw the review where they reviewed all 4 bikes and they thought it was fantastic other than the foot pegs, which I don't understand people as I stand up on mine all the time with zero issues, and to me it seemed more like guys who spent 95% of their time on road and very little off where each bigger bike with 120LBS+ will cause you nothing but issues (Both the bigger bikes are pushing near 500LBS vs the 350LBS KTM) Also the BMW died in the off road test and they kept remarking that the KTM got through everything 100% fine vs the bigger CC bikes, in the end though it was gearheads and horsepower in which 99.99% of the time they'll never use In short: Giving road riders bikes to review in an off road setting where all they want to do is slam the gas on highway straight aways and twisties makes for poor review. Not to mention the review was crap just for the price comparison they should have reviewed other bikes in the price range A better comparison would have been throwing the KTM 890 adventure into the mix, which is still a cheaper than both and still a far better bike EDIT: Also the big big big big huge BMW died in the review while the KTM did fine, yet they didn't bother to review the BMW

3 or 4* either way of a footpeg lean doesn't change anything unless you are riding in alpine ski boots. The rubber flex of bottom of your shoes flexes that amount anyway. Just a dumb critique of the bike.

Like you i don't have any issues with the foot pegs even while standing offroad and the slight angle does make them more comfortable on the street. Thanks for the comment safe riding.

I bought my 390 at a dealer that also sold Triumph and Ducati bikes. The Ducati Desert X cost more than my car and is a really larger bike with a larger twin motor and bells and whistles up the wazoo. Even the Triumph 900 is much larger and costs twice as much as my 390. They should have had the KTM 890 ADV in that review because a single cylinder bike can't match the power and torque of a twin motor bike which are also much heavier than the rather slim and trim 390. What an unfair comparison and what a bunch of idiots.

I dont know when people became so lost, " I think it is manufacturer driven " If its bigger and more expensive it must be better ?" I am a function over form kinda guy. I dont really care how much it costs or how big and powerful it is. Does it do the job is the only question i need answered. :) thanks for the comment. Ride safe friend.

I am with you bud. I have watched so many videos about the 390 and who knows how many about motorcycling in general. It has gotten to a point where you can spot the bullshit a mile away, Especially if you own a 390. I am not in anyway saying it is the best bike out there, but it sure as hell does a lot more and is a lot more capable than what most reviews claim. Does one need to do some adjusting and add a few things to the 390 to improve the stock setup, of course, but hey you would do that to almost any other bike out there these days as well. But this is a good things, as it helps us separate the bullshit reviewers out there from ones who do a good reasonable job. Anyway happy riding, stay safe and have a superb weekend.

I'm with you I enjoy an honest review with legitimate points , some of these videos are just dripping with sanctimony and arrogance almost as though they try to shame buyers into getting whatever bike they are really pitching by subtly implying that buying the bargain of the group somehow makes you a less legitimate rider. thanks for the comment safe riding friend.

Just shopping for a bike-never looked twice at the big bikes other than to see just how much some guy thinks he can lug up the trail (I'm guessing on a dare). They're made for getting to the trails pretty good....but not the right tool for the trails. They just look like a chore on the trails. But me....I'm in it for the fun. Those don't look like fun-they look like a liability.

$7100 OTD for me and that included the quick shift. Now it's Aftermarket time! Long time off-road, MX, trials adv and dual sport. 7 bikes and this is the cheapest one of all. Its a hoot!

You could spend another 3k upgrading the 390 and it would be very competitive to almost any other adv bike out there. Suspension, handlebar riser, foot pegs, skid plate and tires. All for around 10-11k and still less than half of what these other overpriced bikes cost.
