Very Awesome work on that Harley tank Ive owned and rode many Motorcycles in my life I’m 56 years old and bt far that was one of the best gas tank repairs ive ever seen on one messed up that badly more importantly a Paintless repair Ive always wondered why no one has made a Elecro Magnet repair system that would allow you to insert shaped Steel peices inside the tank and pull using a very strong magnetic force of course with that very cool Vise set up you have and your process perhaps there is no need to do repairs any other way i’m quite impressed that you got that sharp crease out as well as you did i know years ago petiole used to build weird contraptions to try and reach all parts of the tanks thru the fuel holes one time at a Flea Market in Florida a group of guys were selling off their contents of a Motorcycle repair shop they closed and they had a box of all these weird shaped items they welded up so i inquired about them and thats what they used to try and straighten damaged tanks as much as they could before they sent them to a painter i didnt have a need for the box so i passed it up and bought some other things they had that i could use living and riding in Florida all the sand on the roads could pit a face shield pretty quickly so i bought some NOS they had then shared them with freinds for my cost which was close to a dollar each

I’m here because I have dents in my tank. I bought a PDR “kit” off Amazon for less than $20. Had two pullers, a scraper, some glue sticks and the pieces you glue to the dented area. I had very low expectations but figured for $20 it was worth a shot. To my surprise 90% of the dent came out after 1 failed attempt and 2 good pulls. The dent is barely there now. The dent was the size of a a baseball and as deep as 3/4 of a inch. All but a tiny bit is gone. I used gorilla glue sticks due to the sticks from the kit being too small for my glue gun. The 2nd pull which was really the first real pull blew my mind watching the dent come up right in from of my eyes. Then the next pull really shrank the dent to almost nothing. After that I could not get more of it out and burnt the shit out of my thumb, so I boxed it and got to paint correction. Pro PDR guys have my UTMOST respect. I bet that is one heck of a satisfying job. Closest thing I have ever seen to magic. Cool jig for holding tanks. I sure wish we were in the same area. I bet you could make my tank look perfect.

I don’t think many guys can do that. I’m looking to see if dings can come out of gas tanks with pdr. Guy today said can’t be done as metal is to thick

Yes this is a myth, many PDR guys are misinformed when it comes to motorcycle PDR.

If no one else pats you on the back for the final result, you can be justified to pat yourself on the back for it. I know I would. The end result is just amazing. I too would have been concerned about the stretched metal on that crease. But you knocked it out of the park! I put a like on the video before I got 1/5 of the way through it.

Ok, question ? How many hours in that tank and what was the cost ?? As everyone says Great job !!!! Unbelievable !!
@ProPDRofGa4 жыл бұрын
Bobby PDR isn’t priced based on an hourly rate, typically it’s the size of the dent, location, and panel that you’re working on if you’re talking about cars, tank or fender that you’re working on if you’re talking about motorcycles. But I had 9 hours in this one. I remember it was in the 800-900 range but one like this could vary depending on the ease of access inside a tank, the thickness of the metal, and the ease of mounting it to the vice.

That was amazing. I was sure the crease was going to put the death-nail into that beautiful tank. Great job. I hope I never have to use your services but if I do I'm calling you.

You're a Master ! How do you keep from the heat gun changing the shade or tone of the metalic paint ? I repaired a dent and the paint was slightly darkened but it was only visible at certain angles of sun light !
@ProPDRofGa4 жыл бұрын
Toniche Cavalari That happened as a result of the metallic flopping, heat does not cause this. When you’re pushing the metal back out if it comes up with a wrinkle here or there it causes the metallic to lay differently so when light hits it at certain angles you will see shadows. Certain paints are very difficult to repair without this happening

Great job,what would a job like that cost?
@ProPDRofGa4 жыл бұрын
D m8 700-900 depending on the severity and tank. This being a numbered tank, the replacement cost was very high so it was worth repairing.....sometimes with damage this severe replacement is a better option.
