Absolutely loved the video! I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to make a 2-1 collector and you laid it out so well. Thank you very much and I love the build!

Great! 👍 Happy to hear my video can be helpful! It has been a while since I have been able to put aside time for my cafe racer build, but I'll continue very soon now 😊

Very nice. I could be perfect after making those two angles more smooth like 60 degree transition. 90 degree like this is causing slowing gas and scavenging is not so efficient. Your Craftsmanship very impresive. Im glad to learn something .

@@flashmaker1858 You are probably right, I just wanted sharp bends because if the styling 😝 I did se a test once though, about air resistance for different type of pipes. The shape did not matter that much, the length and diameter was most important. It will however be exciting to test it, I have not yet fired up the engine to test the new exhaust 🤞

Impressive skills. I want to learn to weld like that...

It's not difficult, but it requires practice. I don't weld frequently enough myself to become really good at it 🥴

Thanks' :-) I am quite sure you know exactly how time consuming it is to be both in front of and behind the camera and then do the video editing as well. How many times have you driven back and forth, setting up and taking down the camera, for a 5-10 sec video clip? :-D

@@kihestad Hahaha, well... I have a slight idea of how much effort is put into stuff like this 😇🙈 But damn it makes for so better content and everything is much more interesting to watch. Just keep up the great work, when you reach 1000 subs you will get alot of traction and you hard work will pay of.

@@tshansen Totally agree, and yes - hoping to get some more subs along the way, getting 1000 subs is the goal this year :-) Looking forward to your next video btw, I guess you will be travelling up north from Ålesund and visit my local area!

@tshansen 3 жыл бұрын
@@kihestad Yeah, I'm not sure how much footage I got if I have to make two videos of the area around Ålesund and the way up to Atlantic coast Road. We just have to see what I can make of it all, at the moment I'm trying to find music for the project 🤣 The first 1000 is the hardest, but if you keep consistent, have good production quality you will get there in no time. Just don't fall for that idiotic trend and use 2 min of every video to beg fror like, sub and tell people where to find that damn bell 🙈 (my opinion)

@@tshansen hahaha 🤣 I would think most people know how this work, so I will stay away from the 'begging' part 😁

Worth getting a tig welder- will change your quality of work immensely and cut down on the grinding

I agree!!! My MIG welder is too powerful as well. I need to weld at high speed even at lowest settings to not burn through thin metal. Not easy to get a pretty looking weld, and it is quite bulky 😔

Outstanding job sir!! If you are willing to ship to the united states I would love to buy the original exhaust. I have been looking for those pipes for over a year now.

Thanks ☺️ PM me on Instagram regarding the original exhaust. I will probably need them for a while to compare sound level and performance with the ones I am building.

Hi, this is a fantastic job, just what I'm trying to do with my CB450 Nighthawk, If possible I could use some guidance from you, your collector has 38mm inlet (same as mine) and 51mm outlet, for a 400cc bike, should I use the same outlet diameter for the 450cc? how did you calculate this?
@kihestad
@kihestad Жыл бұрын
Well, I have to admit: I did not do any calculations 😁 I just copied the exhaust that was on my bike. It was a Motad 2:1 aftermarket exhaust system. From what I have read it's supposed to perform wert well. I would guess it should work well for a 450, or even bigger engines as well. 51mm = 2inch should be enough for quite big engines 😁

I love your work, but I do have a question. How are you going to change the oil filter when necessary? P.S. Greetings from Croatia 😉
@kihestad
@kihestad 3 жыл бұрын
Haha, you're the first one noticed it, or at least commented on it 😁 The exhaust has to be partially taken off to change the oil filter. Not many bolts though, but a bit extra work. Design before practicality 😋

@@kihestad haha, I guess Im more for function dictates form. You will see that in my comment on your headlight placement. BTW I have a CB 400N from 1982 😉

Ah, nice 😊 Cafe Racer is mostly about design these days: form over function. It has to be balanced though, the bike is supposed to be used - not just for display 😊
