It’s quite amazing to me how freshly painted forks just lifts a bikes appearance. Great Job!

It’s good to watch a person perform the less complicated maintenance procedures. Until I see how easy it can be, I usually shy away from doing these type of things but as one of the previous comments states, this gives us confidence to tackle these procedures. I have a granddaughter the same age as yours and when I’m in the garage she also likes to watch and play with whatever she can pickup. Maybe one day I’ll get the chance to meet you at Jerry’s. Cheers

Im still convinced that a garage, a workshop and a grandpa is the perfect environment for children to get focused in the right direction. I had it in my younger days, too (yea, it's long, looking ago), and looking back it was a perfect and lucky time were I learned a lot. Don't wait too long to give him some simple jobs, he will be proud to help and thankful remember later ☺️👍

Great job sir, this will prevent a lot of deterioration in the future, it dosen't need to be perfect, just need to be done properly the first time, let it cure, and maintain it, which is exactly what you do!

Brilliant little video. As a newbie to bikes (2020 NV750x DCT) and any sort of maintenance, they give me tremendous confidence to give it a go with your excellent and super calm videos. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Maintenance videos are great- inspires me to try to do some of these jobs. Have done oil/ filter changes and adjusted chain which went ok apart from difficulty getting filter off. First time was a nightmare- resorted to punching screw driver through it. Second time- even tho I didn't do filter up really tight- just firm- it must tighten itself over the year!! Not needing screw driver but certainly multi grips. When I do it on cars I've owned- can undo with a rag. Attempted greasing bearings on dog bones- bolts are super hard to undo- had to resort to hitting spanner with hammer. Got one undone but left job until I could face it again or work out better way to untighten them. The trouble I get myself in!! - wish my attempts went as smooth as yours. Anyway your videos inspire- even tho I curse your name occasionally!!! I do need to alter the position of my gear selector- do you want to do a video on adjusting controls? Gear, brake pedals, hand controls etc I'm sure it would be of interest to a lot of people. I could certainly use it and promise not to curse your name again!! - just joking. Keep them coming- they're great. Cheers

Thanks mate. Controls adjustment ? My vid on foot peg lowering shows his to adjust the rear brake. The gear lever control is as simple as loosening the 10mm nuts on the lever arm then turning the lever arm one way of the other to achieve the position you require. Then retighten.

using a hair dryer to help dry the paint also seems to even out the finish a bit, almost like baking enamel!

Love watching you working, no complications about anything, thats how I like to do it. Regarding the service manual, do you know where I can find one or can I contact you somehow so you can send it or something?

Another interesting project. You said "a little bit cold".. what temp is that? Here in Sweden we are in late summer now and today it's 20°C. Perfect for that kind of work🙂.

Yes “cold” is relative. It was about 15c at the time. But sunny so they cured in sunlight which always helps a lot.

If you mean the black side protectors, it’s just “Kevlar look” self adhesive sheet bought from car parts store and cut to suit.

I should do that to my mirror stems... Though I'd rather just cold blue it.
@AfricaTwin-Stuff
@AfricaTwin-Stuff 2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm. Cold blue doesn’t stand up to much outdoor abuse. It also needs to be oiled to stop it rusting. So I would vote for painting them.
