Thanks, Mate! Never really considered this carry option seriously before, but the more I look, the more comfortable I am. The only problem now is that it looks as though I'm going to have to spend a bit on gearing up for some deep snow riding! Looks like a blast!

I Love how easy this kzbin.infoUgkxvAj3godqGAIP5rApM1laH767JGtPG1-h carrier is to adjust from my friend to me taking turns holding the baby! It provides great support on my back too! This has definitely made shopping easier! I always get asked where I get it too!

I am a truck driver and if it can move an inch it can move a mile. That might not fall off 99.9 percent of the time but it’s a little loose.

Nice work, but you should really leave your bike in gear when its on the rack. Dont ask me how i know this.....

Next set of tires look at the Cooper Discoverer ATX3. I have a big camper like you and those tires transformed the truck. Not all E rated tires are the same. The Coopers and the BF TA are the two go-to for sidewall strength and stability. The Duratracs are good tires...just not as good as the other two.

I think putting them over grips or space on handlebar where flush and flat is much more secure

It's definitely better. It loads the front and the rear suspension better than the way this guy did it. There's no need for a second pair of straps for the rear if you do it over the handlebars correctly. Also he should leave the bike in gear once it's on the rack. These racks are low profile enough that you do not have to power the bike up onto the rack. But I do understand in this situation since he's in deep snow which adds a lot of resistance.

Dude that's some real nice looking riding gear you're wearing. I'd like to have that to match my Honda CRF250L its a dual sport and mostly ridden around town for now but I want to go out west soon and ride some easy stuff. I live in Boynton bch Florida so no hills here lol Also just picked up a MotoTote carrier for the back of my 4Runner, got off Craigslist and only paid $250 for it with the lights on the back too! Anyway I'm gonna be sport'n a cool look with my Honda on the back of my Red 4R now I need some gear to wear like you have. I'll look SWAT hahah check my channel sometime Sarasota Tim (just moved to Boynton so now my channel name makes no since but what can I do 😎

Why did you put the ratchet strap on the back and the cam buckle on the front? I'd think the front would be more important and the ratchet strap would be less likely to loosen.
@irnieracing
@irnieracing Жыл бұрын
Works Best. The Ratchet straps actually do loosen up while the cam buckle on front holds really well. It's easy to compress front suspension first with cam buckle. Once I find the right balance, I then move to the center frame strap and ratchet it tighter.

Canada/ USA ground Border is on lockdown as long as the "magic virus" keeps running rampant. Racing in Canada is no better with ridiculous local restrictions on outdoor club events where no crew or spectators/family are allowed to join WMRC events.. Just signed up racers. The mission raceway track (check my videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4i3pYljgpxjj80 ) is not of much interest to me, and without ability to have friends join in to make it fun, I have no interest. Hopefully the border opens up in 2021, but not likely.

I guess it makes sense to power it up there in the snow. In general, it's easy to push it up there without power, but that snow was a little deep, and adds a lot of resistance. Also, the rear tie downs are totally unnecessary and are overkill. I run my straps over the handlebars, instead of the forks. This gives me more than enough tie down force on the front and rear suspension. The bike isn't coming off at all. I had a blowout at 90 mph with my bike on the back of my gen 3 explorer. Bike didn't move an inch. Get you some forksavers if you are worried about damaging your fork seals from tying it down. Either way it goes, the straps that you are using for the rear can be ditched. All they are doing is adding to your time. Also do not forget to put the bike in first gear after you strap it down.

one strap lets go and bike is dragging on the pavement. The 2nd set of frame mounted tie towns are for safety, not necessity.

Usually neutral as I pushed it up, but sometimes in gear because I used the engine to help mount. Doesn't matter, not going anywhere.

Always leave it in gear after it's on the rack. It will keep the bike more secure. It helps especially if you go over a huge bump that might compress the suspension enough for the bike to roll. If you keep it in gear it keeps that from happening. Ask me how I know!
