For version II of the expandable casket I'd make it with an aero bullet shaped front end, and have it also expand up. That should mitigate some of the sail effect. Also jackstands on the back corners of the casket instead of under the bike - or maybe even add bolt on "trike" wheels like Tow-Pac's Instatrike.

I took my 1974 Honda CB750K4 on an 8,000 mile solo road trip around the country. It has half a Vetter touring kit on it, upper fairing with windshield, highway bars but no pegs, just the studs heh. Platforms, king/Queen saddle seat, sissy bar, rear luggage rack and integrated fiberglass side saddle storage. I tried my duffel bag onto the passenger seat and when I got tired, I just kicked back against the bag, propped my feet up between the windscreen and handle bars, and slept. To stay out of the weather, I tied my Wubby (if you know, you know) between the sissy bar and windscreen and it made it a comfortable tent. I hit some hellatious wind on US-2 coming across Minnesota. I had to be on the far right shoulder, leaned so far into the wind that when I crossed a wind break, it shot me all the way across both lanes before I could straighten up again. That lean into the wind is no joke on big, old bikes like mine. They are much taller than modern bikes. It was all period correct original, no cup holders, charge ports or anything. Cruise control for me was a left hand cross grip on the throttle, heh. First issue was a broken chain half mile west of Maris Pass. It was so stretched that I just used the breaker tool to press out the broken link and press it back together. That got me all the way to central California, heh. I stopped in California to get the utterly worn down rear tire and chain replaced before going into Death Valley in August. I got a flat rear tire in Death Valley. While sitting on the tire, I had a van full of European tourists slow down, take pictures, wave and drive on. Other than that, no issues. Frozen mountain passes, stormy open plains, 120+ degree desert heat, the bike handled it all without issue nor complaint. It was a great ride.

And what’s up with not trying them before leaving? Cross wind...on the interstate...in the south west...who’d-a-thunk!?!🤷🏼‍♂️ And why couldn’t the bike pulling the trailer ride next to him on the windward side to help block it? “Need that side of the kickstand to counter the wind”? Or...MAYBE...turn the bike...AROUND? But, it’s an adventure!! 👍🏍🇺🇸

This reminds me of when my wife and I and another couple left home In Augusta Ga. going to Billings Montana to a Goldwing Rally. We made two of these trips. Going through Kansas we ran into a 65mph. wind. It was a head on cross wind. I had my GL 1800 wide open and only running 35 mph. I knew if I had stopped we would have been blown over. I believe our 650 lb. Camper kept us on the road.

Ari seems like he’d have thought about this but if not I feel like putting it out there. Higher rate rear springs to offset the weight would’ve been a good idea. Also I could really tell how/what those jacks were attached (to) I think leaving them off until needed would’ve protected them and gave a little more lean angle to the Honda. Food for thought for anyone thinking about doing that option. I personally think the best bet would be put a hitch on a Goldwing and tow that lil trailer with that.

the wing a bago was done really well. I like the finish, it's insulated and has sealed windows and RV locks. he only thing that I would change if this was actually serious would be to add thin aluminum to the roof and sides like a real RV. It wont take long for that plywood to start to rot.

I used to pull an old metal tin coffin behind my bike bout 30 yrs ago. It started out as my tool box when I welded at chemicle plants, then made a hitch for my bike n build a trailer with the coffin. The rest was history but had sleeping arrangements n storage room. Was great for many yrs till I bought a 27ft bus. Take care.

Really liked the idea of the wing-ebago as silly as it is 😂, although the crosswinds were really scary, maybe it would be slightly better if the top of the camper could be folded flat as well so it doesn't catch the wind too much

The old Goldwing design is just so cool, the futuristic concept that people back in the 80s came up with really lives to today. The more rectangular body design just looks so classic, and yet at the same time the front disk break cover plate feels so sporty and mean...

A little late... But.. You COULD have welded on some slide rails on the bottom of the 'Wings' zorsts, so you had more ground clearance, and then when needed, slide on the jacks, wind em up and sleep, then wind em down, slide out and store back in the home again! But.. Nice idea nonetheless, though, maybe a wooden/Ally tube fold out frame with canvas to cut down on 'Side wind' issues and weight? But in the end, I think I too would go trailer route... 🤔😏😉 😎🇬🇧
