We love our Lee sure lite, too. It’s very well designed and made. We just took ours on a 4,100 mile road trip two months ago. 18 nights, 3 major thunderstorms and 100+ degree temps thru Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, S. Dakota, Oregon and Washington. It was amazingly comfortable and never leaked a drop on us inside. And we don’t have the tarp roof like the newer models. The awning proved extremely valuable. I’m so impressed with our little camp trailer! I love it!!! Thx for your great videos. I look forward to every new one you post. Keep em coming.

I have a Leesure -Lite and watched you set it up, a few pointers for you, you needed to have full contact with the ground on the LID, jack up the rear jacks after you open it up and LOOK under the LID. I have trailer bubble levels on the side and back, saves time and right on for being level. I made a light weight wooden rack for the TOP to store stuff on, saves the finish. I can also place a large waterproof container in the wooden rack over the wheels so there isn’t a weight distribution problem. I have been a Leesure-Lite fan for years and on my second one, To get better mileage out of the TIRES, use 1 oz of Glass Tire Balancing Beads in each tire, I DO NOT have a Storage Box in front, instead I have a Cooler because I like my BEER COLD and Plentiful, If you go with a cheaper plastic Igloo Cooler, drill the TOP LID and foam it, there isn’t any insulation in the LID of those Coolers. Enjoyed seeing the Video and the Camp Ground look very nice, I too like camping up North and pissed off about them closing the Border, maybe next year.
@WindyTherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sam, thank you so much for the tips. If I knew then what I know now I would pass the front storage pod. It is somewhat useless for me as my bike isn’t as suited for towing so I need to be careful with the tongue weight. Wow I’m digging your setup and let’s talk about that very colorful rug you pulled out in front of your camper? Wow that’s thing is pretty bright and I dig it. How much do you think your overall load weight is that your pulling? I’ve built a small cargo trailer to pull behind my motorcycle and I believe it comes in weighing about 350lbs total weight loaded and yes your absolutely correct weight means everything. My wife and I went on an 11 state, 8,000 mile 30 day motorcycle ride pulling our trailer. The motorcycle starved for power going against the wind in North Dakota as we ended up getting like 25 mpg. Normally it’s about 35-40 mpg with trailer in tow. I’d like to know more about the rear storage under the trailer. Where did you purchase it? Maybe you can do a video on the specs of the trailer and what you’ve added to it and how and what you pack in and on it? That would be something I’m sure a lot of us viewers would love to watch. So I’ve subscribed so I can view that video! 😜✌🏽 Thanks for sharing.

First and foremost, welcome to channel and thanks for subscribing. I really appreciated it. I am an Austin Powers fan so the camper name is Shaggin so the colourful mat complements the 70’ decor! 😂
@WindyTherapy2 жыл бұрын
The dry weight (with the options I picked) is about 380 lbs then adding my gear, I was reaching 450lbs which honestly was too much for my motorcycle to safely pull it. ( my triumph trophy has lots of HP and CCs but lacks torque mainly to face hills or mountain passes. I recently went over my gear and removed some items that weren’t a must. I haven’t stopped at a Hwy scale recently but I weighed the items I removed and I managed to cut down 20 lbs. So …..The total weight should be around 420 lbs
@WindyTherapy2 жыл бұрын
The unit came with the rear aluminum storage (one of the options I chose because it helps to reduce the tongue weight by adding some items into it) ? I have a friend that is a dealer in Saskatchewan and can likely ship it to USA. Info below 👇

I really like your video, I have a FJR yamaha, looks like your bike and was looking at this camper. You showed step-by-step how you put everything up and that really helped. You have helped me make a decision on the camper. Question, what do you use to cool yourself when it gets hot and do you have a waste system you use inside that is portable? Some have used an artic air plug-in for cooling, just curious about what you use. Looks like you have a good time.
@WindyTherapy Жыл бұрын
Hi Patrick, I am glad it was helpful ! Generally speaking in Western Canada (or USA) it tends to cool down at night so I don’t have problems to sleep. I do have a small USB fan that I use during the day just to circulate the air a bit. Having said that, one of the options for this particular model is an A/C and it’s brackets to attach to the front window. (But you need to be mindful about the extra weight)
@WindyTherapy Жыл бұрын
Some folks carry a porta potty but I don’t for a couple of reasons. 1) extra weight 2) I prefer to camp in campgrounds with bathrooms 3) If I come across a dispersed camping scenario, I would simply hit the bushes caveman style.

Good question ! Sadly not …. There space by the “foyer” is about 3’x3’ (unless they are small kids) but ….. what some people so is to buy what the factory calls as “Add a room” which gets zippered on the awning creating a full enclosed area where it can be used as a massive living space.

just bought my first Goldwing trike in Florida, and I‘m considering the LuL as well. It appears it’s the only camper trailer to be setup by handicapped. So far, I’m not sure where to buy one, just a few dealers across the continent. I figure I’ll see when riding North. From your nice video I see a certain sloppiness in the walls, and I’m wondering about robustness of the whole setup in strong winds. Are there hookups for lines along the roof edge in the LuL? Also, I long ago switched to robust and long carpenter steel nails with a claw steel hammer that can go in AND out in any ground.
@WindyTherapy3 жыл бұрын
Hello there ! Yes the LL or Mini Mate were my top 2 favourite options. After the unit is properly setup the walls (fabric walls) are pretty solid and stable. They aren’t as rigid as a solid wall but they certainly don’t flap around. (There’s no need for additional lines) I am sure you will have a blast ! Have a look on some other videos as they may provide additional information. Let me know if you have further questions. Thanks for stopping by, Cheers

Hi Windy, I’m planning on either the Excel II or the Mini Mate, leaning toward the Excel. How well does your Triumph pull it? How does your fuel efficiency change when towing?
@WindyTherapy Жыл бұрын
Hello Tom, I will list a video below where I talk about my riding observations including the fuel economy. Having said that, you will burn more gas mainly when riding in the city (stop and go are a bugger) but in the hwy once you're up to speed isn't too bad. (I would say it will increase the fuel consumption between 20-35% based on the comments above)

@@WindyTherapy I have a 2021 Honda Goldwing DCT Tour. It’s a six cylinder 1833cc horizontally opposed engine. The specs say it develops 125 hp and 125 ft-lbs torque. I previously pulled a Harbor Freight Tag-a-long trailer behind my 106 CI V-Twin Victory (about 100 hp and 100 ft-lbs) and couldn’t feel it, but the Excel is a much larger trailer and I wondered if you could feel it much. @@WindyTherapy Liking is too insufficient compare to what I really love it. It's unique. I have seen the technical diagrams and your towing pictures in 2019-2020, if I am not wrong. You already gave the diagram at Triumph Trophy forum site. That was and is still great. As many people may wonder also i would like to ask what kind of effects occured to the chasis in the course of the time. I guess that maximum weight of the camper plus yours must be less than Maximum load capacity of the TTSE. Or is there any given towing capacity with only rider at some technical specs?
@WindyTherapy2 жыл бұрын
@@bilmuhalper Good question ! I can’t tell if towing will affect the chassis or not but it is important the realize the motorcycle isn’t “carrying” all the weight. The tongue weight is often between 45-55 Lbs while the rest is dispersed onto the trailer axle. The stress is really related to getting it rolling and stopping so I am more concerned about the wear and tear of the clutch and brake pads.

Hi Steve, it was about CAD 8,2000 new back in 2018. No the KLR won’t have enough torque nor weight to handle it.
