Looks like the roads I have near my house here in Tenn. Biggest fear are the Deer that can appear suddenly and usually in multiples. Have a buddy that had a Deer come through his windshield and took him and the tourpack off. He survived but the Deer didnt. He said the weirdest thing was laying on the pavement and watching the bike continue going down the street a good distance before crashing in the ditch. Anyway we are all in agreement that best chances of surviving a Deer encounter is at 40mph or less. BTW the Deer whistles dont seem to work.

Sorry to hear about the rider's deer experience. That stinks. You are right deer whistles do not really help. Decades ago I used drive the country roads at night for a job. A coworker pointed out that the whistle does one of two things - 1. make the deer run which might be in front of you depending on where the deer thinks the sound is coming from or 2. stand right where they are which might be around the next corner. The dumbest thing I saw was a fellow rider rev bomb deer. Nothing like freaked out doe and angry bucks running about the place. Stay Safe and Have Fun!

Those are the best roads as far as I'm concerned.. and then stopping in a small tavern on the lake...
