@@mohammed97x6 Yep, first you need to invest in a decent alarmed brake disc lock preferably with a chain that comes with it. I reccomend ABUS. A cover will also mitigate any opportunistic thefts and less brazen thieves from having a go. I then spent a while digging a fairly decent sized hole which I then filled with instant concrete. Once set, I drilled into it with a masonry bit and fit my anchor in. Finally, it has a CCTV camera that cost me £60 and runs entirely off solar power watching over it at all times which notifies me when someone is on my bike. These security measures have mitigated a further 6 attempts of them trying to steal the bike.

I've been riding for years but only really encountered theft issues with my newest bike. Had it for 1.5 years and had about 5 attempted thefts of it from 5 different people/groups. It's a pain in the ass. It's already expensive to run as it is without having to repair damage that's done to it. Basically I expect it now and needless to say I'm well prepared for the next time ;) in fact I'm kind of looking forward to it. Eheheh.

Have a wire from the coil's linked up to the bike frame so they get 30,000 volts go through them when they try to start the bike up, it won't kill them it will be just like a taser shock, just add a bypass switch to disable it when you want to ride..Now THAT would make some good KZbin video!!

a few years ago a mate found someone trying to steel his bike when he finished with the guy he was a bloody mess my mate was arrested for assault and the theaf got off. A few of the other members in the local bike club had a word with the theaf and very politely asked him to leave the town and informed him that if he was seen again by any of them he would not be a happy bunny he left the next day

I've seen one stolen bike go past me being pushed but I couldn't do much in traffic in a van. I told my boss if I ever see any of these pricks in the act I'm mowing them down or making it extremely difficult for them if I can. Boils my blood. I had my ped stolen when I was 16 but was lucky it ended up 25 feet away as they snapped the steering column bolt and not the lock. But I know that gut feeling when you come out and it's not there. Same with cars being broken into in the past I almost caught one guy but I think I'm glad I didn't or I'd of been in a mess not having CCTV in those days.

Wouldn't it be nice if all motorcycle manufacturers made bikes like cars - or Peugeot scooters? You know: with transponder keys that can only be defeated by replacing all the timing/ignition computers? Without the correct key you can't drive the bike away and the parts left over might not bring enough money to be worth the risk. But why should they? They make even more money by selling you a new bike to replace the stolen one. Etching almost every component with an unique serial number wouldn't cost much and the slight cost increase wouldn't affect the rate of sales.

@@hvt8147 I have two chains and padlocks on the front wheel (securing it to metal railings) plus a cable lock and a disc lock on the back wheel. The idea is if they can see it will take ages to get through all my locks they will go off and find something easier. You won't 100% prevent your bike from being stolen, but put as many barriers in their way as possible.

Why not implement a safebrake system where your brakelines arent attached when bike is off? They could not stop after getting a few mph of speed. Guaranteed crash and bike would be safe. Damaged yes but safe
