Great setup. Really enjoyed the video. One thing I have learned from the Ozarks meetups is get rid of the wipes for the visor and get a set of the cheap micro fiber clothes from Dollar General. Wet one down and put it in a zip lock baggie. It works a whole lot better than the cheap glass wipes and doesnt harm your visor as much.

Love the budget on your gear. A tip I might add is to take the tent out of the bag it comes in and stuff it in a side bag. For me I put the poles and stakes in my tail/duff bag.

For my trip from OR to NY I rode a 1995 Suzuki GSXF 750 and I used a tank bag, a tail bag and I wore a backpack. I did this because I wanted to keep the bike from being top heavy. The backpack also allowed me to keep my valuables with me when I went in to pay for gas and it gave me the freedom to hike more if I wanted to. Got sick real quick of being limited to what was with in a days walk of where ever I was camping. It all worked great. Have fun stay safe, PS I had my laptop in my backpack too and with the right set up was my connection to the world weather, road, maps even google earth. Ordered a pizza on it once too. lol

great video. A lot of helpful advice. I've done some trips before but it's been a couple years and this was a great refresher of information for my upcoming week long ride. And I too will be camping so this was a very informative view. Thanks.

Good stuff man, very helpful to noobs like me who never been camping. I think I;m definitely going to invest in that tank bag. Should be perfect for a one night trip imo.

good advice, i just got back from my first trip doing this with basically the same setup except my tailbag didn't come in time. was 5,000 miles total and camped the whole thing. my trip didn't go flawless, but definitely was great. I didn't use a tank bag, instead i bought the 30$ mummy sleeping bag from walmart that has the 4 straps on the side. then bungee'd it on my tank so i can lay on it for some sportbike comfort :)

great vid only have a few issues with your set up. I would NEVER bring anything under pressure or that flammable with me on a bike. Like you all my gear is black and out west and down south that sun is STRONG. Plus I just did a trip from Oregon to NY and had to go over the Continental Divide and it will put you at elevations greater than 8000 feet and have had the bottom of a pop can pushed out because of the changes in elevation. SOOO glad it didn't explode. Another thing I don't know who told you to use fix a flat in your bike tires but please bitch slap them. Besides the above reason fix a flat EATS aluminum and PERMENANTLY coats and slowly weakens most plastic and polymers over time. Plus at certain elevations and/or at certain temps you absolutely HAVE to get the tires rolling over 40 mph for them to inflate enough to use. Real fricken hard to do with a top heavy bike on possibly bad roads.

Get a hammock, you'll never go back.
@davidsmi101010 жыл бұрын
Only major problem with strictly using a hammock is there are quite a few campsites out there that have no trees. Out west especially!
