Another great video. One thing that Ireland has, that no other country does is petrol station Deli food. From restaurant quality dinners to a regular hot food serve over. It depends on whether or not they have a chef. Hugely popular with us locals. Highly regarded and regulated. I really must ask can I run some video in one of those petrol stations. Usually around €10 for a carvery lunch.
@SeanandEmily

Thanks! We’ve really enjoyed documenting Ireland-there’s been so much to see and we’ve probably only scratched the surface 😊. €10 for a carvery -can’t complain at that 😋.

@@SeanandEmily It's very good. No idea how petrol stations turned all food oriented here. These are local places not motorway services... try it the next time you are here. Thanks for the lovely videos.

It makes sense I guess, stopping at a traditional restaurant often adds hours to the day (hence I’m why we hardly stop) so having great hearty food at services is perfect! -will have to try it next time

Brilliant camera work, like all your trips but Emma must tire from having to hold the GoPro out regularly. You’re covering decent mileage considering the use of minor roads. You’ll enjoy The Cliffs of Moher but entry cost is far too steep. I love your chit chat and narrative.😊

Hi Brian, thanks very much! Yeah Emily does a great job of the camera and I think it takes her a few days at the start of a tour to strengthen up the arms again 🤣. Yeah as the weather was good we wanted to do as much as we could hence 1 day is about 3 episodes at the moment. Cliffs of Moher will be out tomorrow and wow did they look spectacular 😊 Thanks for watching and we appreciate your positive support 😎🙌🏻

Looks like a great setting for a movie! Yeah there are lots of places that time just didn't allow for. This was our first time touring Ireland so wanted to get an overall feel for the place with the intention of returning and spending more time in specific areas tat we liked. This 4 week trip of the UK and Ireland was about 8500km so unfortunately we had to make some hard decisions as to what we would and wouldn't see this time round. Hope you are enjoying the series so far 👍

Great drone footage guys, and really good editing. Regarding the Cliffs of Moher, it is just so over touristy now. Years ago you could just go up there and view form any point, no gift shops etc and totally free for all. Of course you still got mad eejits acting the maggot on the cliff's edge, that will never change, but people do not realise how dangerous it is up there on a windy day at the cliff's edge. Gotta say really don't know how you kind of complained about the cost of the Tarbert-Killimer ferry, only €12.00 for the two of you and your bike is great value, if you had to drive that all the way back back into Limerick and around into Clare you would be looking at about 2 hours extra travel at the very least it would be an extra 130km driving. That was probably the most efficient €12.00 you will spend going around here. Anyway enjoy your travels and safe journey.
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily 2 ай бұрын
Hi Killian, thanks very much and glad you enjoyed it! Yeah we totally agree with you but it's one of those things that has to be seen once and i guess the railings went up for as you say the eejits messing around on the cliff edge. In previous episodes we went to the Kerry cliffs also spectacular and a lot quieter =). We only saw the price for a car (when we were riding past which doesn't give one much time to think) and having ridden around all of Norway (an expensive country) the previous year I guess we compared it to there where a lot of the ferries were without charge. We did say that it saved a two hour detour and that it will actually pay for itself in the fuel saved -so yeah well worth it. Thanks for watching

Hi Sean and Emily - more great videos, thanks. Sean - you've seen the new GSA up close. What do you think? Your GSA is pretty new, correct? Would the new one compel you to trade in your current one? Have you tried out the 1300 GS? You're a tall guy, I am wondering if you felt cramped at all. BTW, I'm trying to emulate your stopping skills - when I have my wife on the back, it makes the bike more top heavy, but your stops are always really smooth. So I'm working on getting smoother stops (making sure the handle bars are exactly straight). Thanks for the scenic videos, well done!
@SeanandEmily
@SeanandEmily 2 ай бұрын
Hi Jim, hope you are well and nice to hear from you as ever. New GSA: up close it looks really good, not just saying that but the photos that BMW have been putting out of it really don't show it well. The tank looks fantastic, it's a very similar feel when sat on it. It's a shame the tubular frame is gone however it's supposedly lighter and stronger so moving into the future I guess that's good. The rear part of the frame on the GSA is different to the GS as its designed to take a higher payload. What I don't like is those stupid Auxiliary storage boxes which are not water proof, imagine having to stop in the rain to put your waterproofs on and put covers on the 5 boxes 🤣 -a bit daft. Also the metal plate at the front, which I think is great for attaching things needs to be sprayed black. Our GS is only a 1.5 years old so yeah very new, although it has 35,000 KM on it. The GSA at the show where the lowered versions so yeah it did feel a bit low but I think the standard ones are the same as current models. We actually have the R1300GS in our garage now and will post some videos after the Heading West Tour is complete. One thing i will say is I prefer the sound of the R1250GSA it just sounds and feels a bit more rugged and not so refined, the ride though of the R1300 is fantastic the new GS is a lot more manoeuvrable. Would I trade our R1250 in for the new one.....not sure really, i had hoped that the new GSA would have come with a basic lighter option, I was hoping that 10kg might have been saved but instead we have electronic panniers, screen and many more luxuries that I don't really want on a bike that supposed to be taking us to remote places. Our future trips are planned to take us outside of Europe and more off the road so as capable as this bike will be we are toying with the idea of something smaller and agile.......the F900 is looking more and more attractive but the GSA version is not that much lighter so going around in circles, lol Yeah getting that front wheel straight when stopping is important for a smooth stop and start otherwise the bike gets thrown off balance. Well that turned into a mini article comment reply lol 😂

@@SeanandEmily Sean - thanks very much for your detailed reply. I'm going to be able to demo the 1300 GS next month so your input is much appreciated. Curious - how do you have all the time to go out on these trips? Can you work from the road or are you retired already? Again, thanks a lot for your reply, it's really helpful to me. Take care!

Yeah ultimately the best way is to test ride it so hope you have fun! keep in mind not each episode is a whole day. A 3 week trip with 12 hours on the road each day will ultimately result in 40 - 50 episodes and all our holidays are spent on the road.

Hi, Congratulations on the GS 😎 For us this is the perfect Two up Bike -just be sure to get a top box with a foam pad on it as this will increase comfort levels so much. These are the Touratech Rambler suit -they are great up to temperatures of 25 degrees and hotter and they start to feel warm (like every other waterproof suit) if you are traveling often in higher temperatures then the Companero world traveller suit might be better suited. Here is the video of us trying the Rambler suit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnPMap-igrSSsNUsi=m8g77R5g8XkYIsVZ
