Motorcycle trip. CA to Alaska Part 1. Escondido to Portland, two up on a KLR650. California Hwy 1.

I picked up my KLR650 from storage in Escondido, CA, did some maintenence, and then met Kayla in LA. We rode two up from LA to Portland, Oregon.

I'm lucky in that I live very close to Hwy 1 just north of San Francisco. While Hwy 1 along Big Sur has more majestic views, in terms of motorcycle roads, Hwy 1 north of San Francisco is an awesome road on a bike.

Awesome! And all on a KLR650! And everyone says you have to have a 900# “touring” bike for that sort of trip. I have a ‘23 KLR and it has to be the most “bang for your buck” bike you can buy.
