Going back to Ohio from Pennsylvania a week or so ago I was on the back roads. Had road signs saying road work up ahead. Well sure enough there was road work. They were laying down tar and pea gravel. Had one lane open and traffic stopped sitting in the hot sun. There was a vette behind me and I knew he wasn't too happy. The traffic started to move and it was sketchy. Pea gravel and tar on the bottom of my boots. Then it got on my floor boards after I put my feet up. Pea gravel thrown up into my air cleaner. The plinking of the gravel inside the fender. Did this for a mile or so. Not fun but it's all part of the adventure. Not sure if you can do it on the new glides or not but on my 2019 street glide when my fuel tank is full I can rock the bike back and forth (I have heard it called burping) and the gas in the filler neck will settle down into the tank and you can put more fuel in.

I like riding the backroads but at some point I start thinking I could have been there already if I took the highway. But I always end up loving the backroads and hating the highways. The struggle is real. On my last video my buddy announced he is selling his BMW S1000 RR if you want one of those crotch rockets.

I'm planning a trip right now. Some good advice there. Our next trip is to Tobermory Ontario (Georgian Bay). My suggestion is to always look ahead at the possible weather you might be getting into. You never know if you will need foul weather gear, cold weather gear, or if you need to pack a bathing suit. We leave next Thursday, and we may need foul weather gear (always in my bags), and cool weather gear. No bathing suit this trip...

Did the same road and we were sweating it until we reached the gas station… it was pretty tight. What expanses of nothing out there. I just always think of people crossing that in a wagon and ox…. What cajones they had… I would have looked and just turned back towards civilization…. Course I also think that here in East Tennessee, who on earth would cross all of these Dadgum mountains? I would have been a horrible pioneer.😀

Oh broke my sunglasses out riding before, least was not prescription, but I ride with clear visor and on hot days I leave it up with and wear sunglasses, my helmet has the inner visor too, but I stopped to adjust them and did not take my gloves off and snapped them right across the nose piece, so ahd stop and buy another pair, was like 90 plus out that day and too hot for visor down. I have also pushed the gas limit few times,not many stations on our rural roads here in Kentucky lol.

So gas rule 1/4 tank start looking. Always fill up before returning to base camp at the end of every day. Phone charging power, get a good water proof case for your phone. Get a ciro cyber charger with the off set perch mount, and your phone will never die. Doc bailey's will water proof your boots and seat, also rain booties. Feel better.

I ware prescription glasses also and they are expensive if you have a couple pair, they are also a pain in the butt to swap out. Kinda solved that problem by getting a FF helmet with a drop down tented shield. Might look goofy but it works for me.

I take it as a challenge to see how far I can go whether I’m on my bike or in my truck. Last week I literally coasted into a Costco even though I had passed at least 6 stations. My wife is the exact opposite. She’s panicking if the gas gets below half a tank in her car. 🤭😂 As for sunglasses my wife swears that I have a sunglasses problem just because between my truck and the bike I have at least 7 or 8 pair along with a couple of clear and amber glasses. 🤑🤑

I play the how low can I go on gas in my truck all the time but it seems a little more dangerous on the bike 😂

Don't go for a ordinary power station, but choose for a 12 volt Lithium jump starter. It comes with the battery terminals for starting a motorcycle, it has USB and a light. You can charge your phone about seven times from zero to full. For boots I only use the LOWA combat boots, with the waterproof liner. Not cheap, perfect fit, and you walk all day in them.
@BoDean524 ай бұрын
I am not heard of those boots, but I know a lot of guys were combat boots and swear by them. I have a jump starter, but that’s not the purpose of what I have this for this is more of a power station back up than a jump.
