Sold my 2017 M8 Limited after 35k miles for a 2007 Road King Custom. Wife quit riding and i went back to something i love. Had a 98 RK before. No need for music, fairing, or tour pak when its just me. I love traveling days on end just feeling the wind and hearing those Rhinehart's rumble.

I have 95000 kms on my 14 RK, Probably around 59000 miles. Damn thing is still tight as a drum. You might want to consider swapping those bars for the stock later year handle bars like on my 14. On a side note, that prepper is pretty much on to something. just need to turn on the TV. Cheers Bob

@BoDean52 No I didn't actually. Brought my GSA in for a recall and there it was!! Like a shiny penny. This bike was more expensive then lower mileage bikes of around the same year. Last owner was a 75 year old. Thing was immaculate. The RK is now my #1

Now I'm thinking of putting on beach bar but that more money. When I started wanting a Harley, I wanted a Heritage or Road King, will say the Heritage always caught my eye. I looked at both when I finally could afford one, they both have that old school appeal. My RKC is 2002 and does have cruise, but she my only bike and I do long highway trips, so cruise is must for me.

I have an 05 ultra classic that is getting the oil pump upgrade comes with hydraulic chain tensioner, lifters ,timing chain ,gaskets and rocker box gaskets, those are starting to leak. I have 35,000 miles on it and have kept the oil changed every 3,000 miles. It's a keeper like your RK . Stay focused and have fun!

I love my 2011 Road King. I did the cams, bars, Saddleman seat, exhaust and filter. Oh and extended floorboards and rear brake and shift levers, CRAP, I can go on and on. Thought it was going to be a short list, but uhhhh no. Anyway my point is, I love it, wouldn’t ever sell it. Heck I wouldn’t be able to get back what I put in it if I wanted to! 😂

Very enjoyable video as I agree with you about simplicity of the Road King as I have 2006 Custom. I also ride a 2022 StreetGlide ST and a Yamaha FJR1300... the King will never be sold, smooth and silky that reminds me of an old Caddy. Great video!

I don't have a Road King, I have an 06 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I completely redid the bike in 2020 and I'm the same way as you are, I wouldn't give up my bike for nothin '. And I would own this bike before I would buy an overpriced new bike all day long.

If u go with the gear driven cams..u won't have to replace anything thereafter...but the hydraulic ones should last u for some time too..Ride Safe😊

In regards to buying a new bike verses a used one. It’s really the gadgets. Are the new gadgets worth 30-35K? The Road King has the guts and a couple bags enough to travel.
