I had no idea what you meant...so I googled Duel and it said some chap overtook a vehicle and the driver of the overtaken vehicle was so angry he tried to kill (or did kill?) the overtaker!!!! I avoid anything with even minor peril!!! I'm hopeless watching films because I always get horribly immersed in them and think I'm there and in danger!! I remember watching Gran Torino....I was in the middle of the countryside with no roads anywhere near but I had to keep pausing the film and looking out of the window to make sure there were no gangs in cars about to shoot out my windows.

I've been told many times that I ride that cruiser like a sports bike...I sometimes ride it very fast and I've got beautifully curved tyres from leaning into corners! But the beauty of it is that you can just take your time too. I sold my GSXR 750 because it brought out the devil in me....I was challenging myself constantly with it! Dangerous! You keep safe!

Got four bikes : a Francis Barnett 197cc a Francis Barnett 250cc a Triumph 750cc & a Yamaha 1300cc all of which don’t get moved enough. I do like good old rock n roll but mostly blues, when I’m not riding I love drinking Whisky 🥃 & eating Curry 🍛 Was brought up on marmite & Brandston pickles. I love ❤️ good old British black humor & of course your videos, which I’m now addicted to 🤪

I know that road, you must have had a good view of Dartmoor in that weather. Statistics can be manipulated according to the variables. According to a motorcycle instructor I had the misfortune to meet recently, motorcycles make up 1% of all road users and that 1% make up 44% of all road fatalities 🙈We're a dying breed 🤣 Those chickens though, I thought mine had got into the house 😂 typical, I'd just washed the carpet 😂

I've just checked that up on the government statistics...thank heavens he was talking bollocks!! It's still bad though... motorcycles are 1% of traffic and make up 18% of traffic fatalities. 44% would have been appalling!! It is obviously still appalling though. Find that instructor again and tell them not to be such a scare mongerer!! As to the hens...they keep trying to come into the barn but two of the cats stand by the door waiting... and the hens scream and run the other way when they see them!! I'm going to have to get some better views of Dartmoor for you next time!!

I’ve just taken up cigars and pipes and love the aromatic pipe tobacco and a good quality cigar. I think they go with cruisers and using our machines to enjoy the experience of being alive rather than how quickly we can get to the next apex. 🤯 Half of UK bikers are over 60 years old! I'm still in the bottom half, but that's the UK Governments fault for painting bikers as Dangerous instead of saying Car Drivers don't watch out for Bikes. They should be advertising how much fun it is, even in the rain, and how most trips in a car only have 1 person in it so congestion would be less if they were on bikes. What's your local brew? Are you in a Cider Area or Lager or Bitter ? Take a guess...yes, I'm in a Whiskey Area! But I could imagine sitting there with you enjoying a few Ciders while you rhyme off all these facts, which are probably horribly in accurate coz a lot of bikes are unregistered.

This is cider country, but I had too much cider as a child to like it now (my parents had no idea it was alcoholic and used to put flagons of scrumpy on the dinner table....I'd get unwittingly drunk and couldn't understand why I couldn't behave properly and my parents got really annoyed with me). I drink whisky and Bourbon.... that's it. Neat single malts....lovely!

Well, looks like the statistics kind of support what you said in a previous video. Most bikers are over 50, listen to Rock Music with a 125 jammed between butt cheeks. Hardly a vision of paradise. The usage of bikes as a main, if not only form of transport rings true for the young riders 17-29. That has to be generated by their economic demographic, rather than choice. Sadly it still gives an overall picture that no matter how slowly, motorcycling is dying out, because fewer folks are moving up to higher cc models and opt for cars instead. Factors of cost and our climate are important considerations too. Fatalities of motorcyclists is a whole topic by itself and probably worthy a video dedicated to trying understand the causes. But I'll bet the majority of incidents involve a Car driver and poor observation.🤷🏼‍♂ So almost half of UK motorcyclists are over 60 years old. That grey bearded and retired 48% doesn't surprise me, in fact it only helps to support the idea that motorcycling is fading away unless something dramatic changes. When you say 'serious'...do you mean 'sensible'? Like a proper, responsible person would make? (Go on, go on)??? Well, weirdly in the last 20 years motorcycle riders/bikes on the road/ distance travelled etc had remained the same. But car usage/ownership/distance travelled has grown dramatically. It's always been the way though that most 'bikes' on the road are teenagers who are only on a bike until they can afford a car. I don't know...I wasn't depressed about the statistics...just interested. But yes, I think I'll do some more.... and be a person of substance!!!!!! So is the subject of the possible demise of motorcycling as shown by your revelation of the statistics. God only knows what is going to happen when that 48% of elderly Gents and Ladies have their licences revoked for becoming doubly incontinent. 💩😢 Bikes of more than 125cc will be an absolute rarity on UK roads. Yes of course the young student going to college or Uni. Or the delivery guy for Dominoes Pizza. It is going to be a young 125 cc market for the vast majority of sales. In my head it was like a documentary and I know I get too distracted for that. It's difficult to explain in words without excessive and extravagant hand movements. And, thank you very much for the cerebral support. And....as to statistics they're beyond our control, I don't worry too much about stable (or not) motorcyclist numbers. Bikes are 1% of traffic....they used to be 2% (20 years ago) of traffic but then there weren't so many cars as there are now. Motorcycle numbers have stayed the same for 20 years....but I don't know what percentage increase there is in the UK population over 20 years. What I am concerned about is whether they''ll make all motorcycles electric...I consider the noise of a motorcycle it's best armour. But the teenagers have always had smaller bikes because they were cheaper than cars. Older retired people can potentially have a greater disposable income and can afford bigger bikes (and are the age to have them too). I think there's always been a gap around 30's-40's.
