You may not have given much thought into a motorcycle wheel chock. I know I didn't until I was trying to save space for storing my motorcycles in the garage. Spoiler alert: I definitely think adding a motorcycle wheel chock to your garage is a worthwhile investment.

Useful video. Took me a long time to find a video that actually shows the bike being mounted and then removed from the device, as opposed to just reviews. Thanks! 😎

Nice review. Looks like the same one I got at Princess Auto here in Edmonton. One thing we've discovered is using the chock with a brand new tire. Make sure you have a friend to hold the chock down or bolt it down as the new tire will become wedged in the chock since the rubber is so new and sticky. YMMV :)
@UrAvgRider
@UrAvgRider 4 жыл бұрын
That’s the one. I use it all the time. I was using it with new tires on the Bonneville and didn’t find it sticky at all. But it’s a pretty skinny tire. Thanks for your comment.

UrAvgRider could be just my luck! Haha. Ya I was using it on a Tracer 900. 5 of my friends all use the same one for our DS bikes and no issues. Thanks again for reviewing it.

Good tip. I just bought one and it should arrive this week. I'm going to spray a little bit of furniture polish on the contact surface; don't worry, not on the part that contacts the tread. Not that it wouldn't wear off in a few revolutions once back on the road.

It looks very similar to one sold in the UK; I bought mine only last week and finally got around to putting it together yesterday. It doesn't work as intended, unless its position on the floor is fixed in some way: I note you have a piece of wood ahead of it, butting against the wall. For me, free-standing, trying to push the bike into it just causes the stand to slide, ahead of the bike. I'm retuning it for a refund tomorrow.
@UrAvgRider
@UrAvgRider Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your comment. I truthfully found the same thing as you at first. The front tire would push the stand forward. Hence the wood in this video. And I don’t know why, but at one point that stopped happening. If I were to place my bet, I would say it was because I wasn’t comfortable enough to do it with normal speed. I hope that helps. It is a useful item.

Thanks for showing how it works. These chocks appear to be a knockoff of the Baxley Sport chock, which is made in the USA and rock solid.

@@UrAvgRider how wide is your front tire? I've read online that for skinnier tires, it can move around quite a bit as the cradle can't grip the tire. I've also read that putting washers on the pivot pins tightens it up a bit and grips the tire
@UrAvgRider
@UrAvgRider 3 жыл бұрын
Front tire on my Bonneville is 100mm wide and the Honda has a 120mm front tire. It’s not too narrow for either. Thanks again for your comment.

I don't understand what's all the secrecy around the brand name of the product. I can't find it anywhere, even in your response to a viewer's question about it. What's up with that ?! PLEASE - what is the brand name of this wheel chock?
@UrAvgRider
@UrAvgRider 5 ай бұрын
No secrecy. This one happens to be from a surplus store. Likely no brand name. But I suspect that most wheel chocks are going to be about the same. Thanks for your comment. Let me know if I can answer any more questions.

The brand/model appears to be TOP SECRET - absolutely nowhere is it mentioned in this video and comments. And note that, except for me, no one has replied to your question about it (vs. all the other comments). WEIRD !

The front tire on my Bonneville is 100/90R19. I believe your front tire is a 90/90R21. 10mm difference for width but maybe it’s the combination with the 21” wheel as well. Is it possible use the wheel chock with your back tire? If the exhaust is high enough it may work???

Hi buddy,I purchased an oxford wheel chock but everytime I try to run the bike onto it ,it just keeps sliding forward,I didn’t notice but did you have to anchor yours to the ground? great vid,
@UrAvgRider

Thanks so much for your comment. It did slide a little at first. I have placed 2x4 behind it (bracing against something) to hold it in place. But now it just holds on its own. Once the front tire is on, it’s solid. The wheel chock has been an extremely valuable tool. Thanks again.
