There are plenty of riders who have used cheaper stands and not had a problem for sure. There are also plenty of stories from riders who learned this lesson the hard way. IMO there are better places to save a few bucks than a set of motorcycle stands. The purpose of this is to show even though they may look similar in the photos they are not all created equal. All riders should do their own research before purchasing so their expectations match the end result. Thanks for sharing your experience. - Brian Van

Not only is the design and thickness of components important, the actual material (steel) analysis, heat treatment, welding technique, and many, many other things. This is why all these things are so closely regulated in the aerospace industry. Trust me, the Far East still has a lot to learn about building reliable, durable products.

He ain't wrong. The pitbull stuff is just miles ahead of less expensive stands in terms of quality and strength. You buy a pitbull stand you're never going to have to replace it if you're using it for it's intended purpose. and it's going to have no problems supporting any bike on the market. You can put a bike up on a pitbull stand and then sit on the bike, and you'll feel completely stable. I tried sitting on my 675 while it was up on a HF equivalent stand and it didn't feel secure at all getting up on the bike. After I got off I could see that one of the pipes had flexed. I haven't owned any woodcraft stands, but if their stands are like they crash protection products, they're also going to be excellent.

Notice the only one he tries to bend are $100+ stand vs a $ harbor freight stand. I can't bent my trackside stands with any reasonable amount of force, that includes standing on it while its on its side. Ill give you alot of the fork lift stands are sketchy, some better than others. But by the logic of this video, bike stands should be made out of 3" solid steal bar. That way if you try to use is as a shackle between two trucks doing a tug of war, your bike won't fall over? 🤷♂️ lol. Seems like alot over unnecessary energy and flexing in a tight shirt going on here.. "watch me bend 10ga aluminum in a direction it wasn't ment to be stressed!!"

Using the price of a bike as your number when discussing a bike is totally stupid, right? Sure, he could have used a bigger number, but why is it necessary? And this is some common term, where there's some sense of "proper" now? I think you're just being An Idiot .. ahahaha ...

I think that's a young guy thing or one who's never went on the mile slide. That's a way too common truth in cheap, but as long as they look the part... Then everyone's insurance goes up because of cheap gear, parts, and a bad injury combined due to nature of cheap. They may save a few dollars, but the group will pay the price as insurers calculate new risk assessment for another year.

Great video as usual. Just wish i saw this before i bought my trackside stand. wasnt trying to save money. It just seemed like a quality stand at the time. Fortunately havent had an issue yet with my trackside stand. Holds my RC51, my baby. Definitely in the market for a Pitbull stand now.

PitBull is considered the gold standard of motorcycle stands. Before I bought my PitBull stands, I did have some of the lesser quality built stands, my bike never fell off but I never felt comfortable with the bike being on them! With my bikes on PitBull stands, falling off the stand or even thinking the bike could, doesn’t even cross my mind.

I have Pitbull stands and I've been using mine without any problems for 9 Years! And my bike sits on these fuckers for MONTHS on end, year after year during Winter storage! Nothing has bent or been weaken during all this time! I've owned a lil Ninja 250R for the first 2 years I had these Pitbull stands. Currently have my 2009 Ninja 650R (with extra givi touring stuff -ie extra weight) sitting on them for over the last 7 years! Go to a race track, do a trackday. You will see MOST of the riders using Pitbull. That aint no bullshit!

J B, I sell stuff and I am a salesperson.I don't sell any motorcycle stuff or work with Brian. So I got to tell you, if you are selling something good that people want people will buy it. Brian can pick out whatever he likes to sell, he could easily sell you the cheapest one too and promote those. He decided that he only will passionately recommend what he personally would use. Why not trust him, and what is wrong with making money ??? If its a free exchange of money for product then what is wrong with that ? If you have been wronged or something just come out and say it don't do this defaming stuff its weird.
@Bruce.Wallace7 жыл бұрын
Saying that "if you are selling something good people will buy it" is no longer true. And hasn't been for quite some time. It's evident everywhere. Why do you think so much shit is made in China these days. Unless you are 18 years old, as a salesman surely you would have seen it. People assume that stuff is just simply over priced and a rip off rather than superior quality, and choose to go for the cheap option even if it will only last 1/10th the life of the superior, more expensive product. It's very hard to find genuine quality in anything you buy these days, and it's going to get much worse.

Pitbull is definitely a quality piece. that thing ain't bending, twisting or moving at all! I've been using the Venom Rear stand that came with my bike for awhile now and it's not terrible, i left my bike on it outside all last winter and it held up but it is sketchy, if the ground is slightly unlevel it puts a lot of strain on the pivot points and all it is is a bolt drilled thru tubing. wouldn't take much for that to tear and fold over. soon gonna upgrade to Pitbull front and rear! 😊

Woodcraft is the better choice: Get the adjustable rear and pin-lift adjustable front stand and you can do everything. - Lighter (Pitbulls are insanely heavy, and for no reason. There's a 2lb solid steal plug at the end of the lift stem, for example) - Lift arm doesn't stick out as far (people always kick/trip over the pitbull stem) - Adjustable height / lift -- setting to 2" off the ground makes for easy 1 arm while kneeling lifting (when using front pin lift stand). Pitbull lifts the bike 3-4" off the ground for absolutely no reason. takes all your weight because you're doing 2-4x the work (ΔPEg = mgh)

It's something I've never had to worry about. Back in the day when my 600 lb. '88 Katana 1100 was made most bikes came with center stands that worked amazingly well. 32 years and 114,000 km later mine's sitting in the parking lot on the center stand right now. I understand manufacturers want to make the bikes light and all but at 68 years old I don't think I could put a bike on a stand alone stand like that, ... at least not without someone else holding the bike straight. I've watched one vlogger do it by himself with old GSXR 1100's though so I guess it can be done.

I usually love your build videos but this one is over the top I've been racing or 12 years now have many many stands of many brands and they all work fine yes my pitbull and woodcraft stands are top quality and love them but I have 100$ stands just as good and just as well made. If you use them as intended they will never fail if you bend them abuse them yeah they will ALL break it all comes out to how much abuse you send their way. Like I said I usually like what you do but this video is pushing the limits of product promotion to the point of ridicule. The fact that you took time and attacking people giving their own opinions on the subject matter in the comment section makes you look a bit sour and doesn't look good from a potential costumer. Do you treat your costumers the same way when they have issues with a product sold by STG and they are not satisfied or has defaults? I'm sorry but you came out as "" I know what best and who cares what you think in the end I'm right your wrong and thats that "" Like I said I like what you guys do and the subject matter you put out but this one is a strike in my books these stands should have been promoted with a bias perspective from a shop that sell many different stands. This is only my opinion on what I have watched it doesn't define who you are and I'm not attacking your person nor your integrity in any way just a simple observation. Keep the good content coming Van!

I just checked their web site. The Pitbull/Woodcraft are less than $150, your bike probably costs thousands of dollars. The difference between the two pricewise is less than $90 bucks! Why would you risk it? That's probably less than the average one month cable OR cell phone bill.
@tylerdirden34167 жыл бұрын
CorkKNIFE you CAN NOT bend my stand like those did, the stand i bought is not low budget like that. Im not risking my bike at all, my bike cost 6gs my 2 stands were like 120 something, so less than 1 pitbull which was over 150 in the options I'd want. No risk here at all as a T-rex stand is made of thick gauge metal just like a pitbull, just not all the features. I was just offering a second bargain budget option for people who dont wanna pay over 150 dollars for some basic metal welded up.
