Yay, he's back! It's been a while. Hope you are doing ok Paul. You did make me smile, doing a wild camp but wearing all that bright luminous hi-viz gear. Was this Ivinghoe Beacon or NT place such as Hughenden? Moto camping is great. I went to Spain to Picos de Europa for two weeks start of May on my Honda VFR800. The weather was awful. Spent the first week pretty much in the tent then got 4-5 day dry and warmish days before a huge storm came in from the Atlantic hitting most of Spain and France, but by which time is was time to come home. Made a mad dash up through France to Calais to the Eurotunnel and home trying to dodge all the torrential downpours. Got absolutely drenched in northern France and once back in the UK riding home. But it was all worth it, just about. A 125cc is pretty light and easy to ride, not big and heavy and difficult to manoeuvre like a bigger bike. Also your 125cc will probably do 80-100mpg so very frugal on fuel. I only get 35-40 mpg out of my VFR800. You still got your Peugeot van you converted to a camper? ATB.
@PaulBissekerBushcraft6 ай бұрын
Thanks Alex. Yes the 125 does 80 - 100 mpg. Which is a plus. I would like a bigger bike but can't afford one atm. Yes i do have the van still. It's broken, needs a new EGR valve. waiting for it to go into the garage to be fixed. Your tour of Europe sounds great except for weather. I was looking at a Honda NC750X DCT. My problem with the 125 is carrying luggage. The exhaust isn't in the best place for luggage!
@alexmorgan34356 ай бұрын
@@PaulBissekerBushcraft Thanks for your reply. Hope you get your van woes sorted soon. Can the EGR valve not be cleaned as they get gummed up with soot/carbon which might be a lot cheaper? Just a thought. Honda NC750X is a good bike. Honda reliability as well. I don't know about DCT though. Consider the Honda CB500X as well, lighter and also quite economical around 70mpg. Cheaper tax as well as it's below 600cc. Can carry much more luggage as well. I guess with luggage on your 125cc it would struggle a bit on major roads keeping up with traffic especially if riding on motorways. Hope you get yourself sorted soon. Great to see you back making a video. ATB.
