I've used this video a few years back when I purchased a couple new 🪓 and a hatchet. All have held up well over the years. FF 3 years later and im now restoring my axes and looking for some other ways to wrap, since my skill set has increased much over the years but I had to come back here to give this guy a shout out and let beginners know that this is a great method beginner or experienced, it's simple and it works and feels good in the hand.

I haven't cleaned my Trangia burner since the day I bought it. And that was more than 10 years ago. I only use denatured alcohol in it. May I ask what fuel you use for it to accumulate that much soot so I can avoid using it. Thank you.
@PaulBissekerBushcraft28 күн бұрын
Hi, that burner is from the 1980's. The fuel i use is amzn.to/4fDR4Lq It does soot up. When i run out of it i will change to denatured alcohol. Thanks for watching. PS. I just bought some..... amzn.to/4fXCYUX

I experimented with Trangia alcohol burner and a Wok and could not get a sufficient heat to cook meal for 2 and call it a stir fry. I replaced the alcohol burner with the butane trangia burner and found that perfect for stirfrying. Great video!

Best use of ferro rod I’ve seen. I like the “long match” natural fiber impregnated with vaseline/wax but it is a finished product. Learning to make fire with the minimum amount of modern items possible is the way to go.

Hey Paul, I know this video is 6 years old but I wanted to know if the bulin gas ‘knock off’ of the Trangia gas stove still holding up? They’re £17 atm and was considering buying one, I’m new to Trangia and trying to slow build up my cooking system. Having said that, I do believe in the saying, buy cheap buy twice. Wonder if that’s the case here..?? Thanks

Paul, you are a legend mate. Hope you’re doing ok? You’ve inspired me to start getting out and I’m slowly trying to get my set up together. I can’t find that Vango Microlite Table, it’s an old model and discontinued 😢. Is that the Mil-Tek 36l rucksack? I see it’s still going strong 6 years later? Please could you tell me what accessories you’ve got for that bag and confirm the model so I can purchase it and have a set up like yours? Imitation is the best form of flattery 😅 Slowly working my way through your videos, you’re awesome mate. Keep soldiering on…
@PaulBissekerBushcraft3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yes the bag is the Mil -Tek 36l with water bottle pouches on each side (Molle) The pouch on the back at the bottom is a BCB Crusader MK1 pouch. The one above it is a folding wood stove pouch i dont remember the make. I have a camera pouch on there and a cutlery set. The table is hard to find these days.
