It's enjoyable to see you put your personal preferences and style onto the new bike . I had those clever Oxford heated grips on a previous bike of mine and found them great as you have 4 levels of heat . The fork socks seem a very sensible idea to me .

I have 192,000 km on my Honda Deauville and I used hairspray to glue the heated grips on. Works brilliantly. - try it!

Nice inspection and pre maintenance. It's nice to get to know your bike technically before enbarking on a trip. Very good! And He probably should use a torque wrench for the tightening part tho.

Very interesting to see head bearing. My 660 was equally as dry and the rear suspension the same. Why does no-one put grease nipples here any more? I am currently adapting a cb500x for travel. The good lady enjoyed sitting on the back of one we hired in Greece this year that I was persuaded to buy one... it's not a Tenere but it was an excellent travel bike and will manage gentle tracks with the protection I now have underneath. Oxford heated grips are next on the list... Your mechanic is very professional, and I think the refreshments are a top idea. Happy travels 👍

The Oxford heated grips look like good quality .. I purchased the Genuine Yamaha ones made in China.. the control button is on the left grip ..I don't have to mount a control box.. High Med Low.. I am thinking of filling my bars with urithane foam so the heat does not get lost so easily .. Yamaha sells for around $110.00 USA dollars. I just got my first heated vest too 12 volts so I am in good shape now ..

Nice informative video. The heated grips are a must. Add a heated vest and life is good. What was once a test of endurance becomes a comfortable ride. Do you have any experience with a heated seat? I have been debating trying one.

the connector for connecting the heated handles is under the side plastic.

Oxford grips are connecting directly to the battery.

Yes! If you have mud on the dash and try to clean it without water you will scratch it.

Funny you should mention the direction of the heated grips. After a month riding through Germany, my Tenere stalled in the middle of traffic for reasons unknown to me. Pretty scary. After inspection, the mechanics said that the clutch plates couldn't separate enough because the heated grip was in the way of the clutch handle. Still don't really understand why the bike stalled, but after that fix no problems.

Would like to hear how you like the Oxford heated grips? I have them on my bike and they are fine except the Left one gets a lot hotter than the throttle side. This makes it a little harder to find the right setting.

I use them from many years and never got a problem.

I think it's due to insulation I think the cold bars absorb the heat usually so the left side if colder than the throttle as the throttle side has a plastic tube between the cold bars it's tricky to fix sadly.

From your old bike you suggested to buy the ABUS Granit Victoria with holder. So I bought it, but couldn't get the Lock on the brake disc. I was ready to send it back, but I now saw you have it on the Tenere 700 (I have the same). Can you tell me how to mount it onto the disc ? Thank you.

On my old Tenere the disc was changed. No problem with the stock disc on T7
